Any other motorcycle riders around here?

I can't decide what to buy, im getting a 01-06 either ninja or CBR, and I'll ive ever ridden are Ninja's. Are there any CBR riders in here that have any comments?

Should I stick with a Ninja or try our a CBR.

Judging from the fact that you still haven't distinguished which specific model you're talking about (I'm going to assume sport bike) and basically all kawis are ninjas and hondas are cbrs, I'm going to have to say that you haven't really ridden a motorcycle.

Go get yourself a good set of gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, boots) and go sit on it and see which one feels better.

CBR's are sportbikes, everyone who rides knows that, why do I need to distinguish the specific model?

I have ridden plenty in my life, and am just looking for anyone that has a preference over one another and why, I am not looking for your safety advice.

You're not gonna be able to tell the difference...

I ride an 03 ZX-6R so I am Kawi biased.

Thank you, that's the exact input I was looking for.

Im always ridden ninja's myself, and the gas tank/seat style on the CBR looks slightly uncomfortable. I guess only sitting on one will decide that.

If you've ridden so much, you should be able to see the difference between a CBR600rr and a CBRF4i. BOTH Cbr's, but vastly different, unless you're going RC51 which is admitedly, not a cbr.

EDIT: Oh, and the kawi 250 is also a ninja, along with the 650 with its parallel twin, the old "cheater" 636 up to the big heavy zx14.

And to clarify, I assumed people would realize I wasnt looking for a 250, I don't know anyone who would want a 250 unless they are 15.

Just admit it, there are ninjas and cbrs that are completely different.

I'll admit that there are still things people tend to like about one brand over another. I'll assume you're goign in the 600-700 stage and I think you should really look at the 636 because that extra 36 makes a big difference. Otherwise, I love having a fuel guage on the honda.

If I had 6 grand to spend today, I'd probably put a down payment on a triumph 675 or the new 07 honda.

Otherwise, I'd probably go with the 05+636. Before that, I'd go honda.

I know lots of them, they're called "Smart first-time buyers." They have a tendency to pick up their 250s used from other first-timers, so they can get used to riding something that isn't going to pop out from under them if they catch a pothole. They come in all ages and walks of life.

I'm a Gixxer fanboy myself. It's hard to go wrong with any modern sportbike. The hardest thing for you will be picking a color scheme

Considering the GSXR's are superior in every dimension to the hondas ( even the new for 07 cbr600rr) and kawis (plus there is no more 636 think they went back to a 599 like everyone else), from a pure bike perspective there should be no other choice. Personally if I had the ability and balls, I'd get a gsxr1k...the finest stock sportbike in the world. (exluding the italian stuff).

Oh and for the riders in the NYC area, the popo are cracking down again with springtime bike check. I got pulled over twice already. Fortunately I am the black power ranger.

If i were you i would get whichever brand bike is the latest design. Right now for 600's the latest design is the cbr600rr which many reveiwers are saying is the best streetbike 600 while the latest r6 is a great track bike. But you can never go wrong with Kawi green

I had a '90 ZX6 followed by a '00 CBR. Despite it being 10 years older and nearly 100 lbs heavier, I liked the Ninja better. The seat was more comfortable and the transmission felt better to me, with more positive shifts and just overall more solid feeling. The CBR was very smooth, though, and the engine pulled strong.

5 years, lots of different bikes.

Then I won't go for the moped option

For practical purposes the bikes are equivalent. There are very few places you could ride them to their full potential. They do have a different feel though. Rather than going with stats and other people's opinions I'd suggest riding both and seeing what your rear end likes. You'll be a LOT happier with the bike that feels best.
