Looks like Kawasaki finally responded to all the "turbo 'busa" comments on here with something of their own. Supposedly the "street" version is to have 222HP and the race version is to have 307HP.

EDIT: Confirmed, the H2R has 300HP from a 998cc supercharged engine.

Every year at Bowling Green they have a dyno shootout for bikes. Last I heard a few years ago they were up to over 700 hp from turboed Hayabusas.

lol only 307hp, my car only has 265 and with the governor removed people have gotten it up to 165. Never thought I'd hear the term only used for a bike with 307 hp.

Most of these bikes are coming with ABS, Traction/Wheelie Control, different fuel maps to reduce power, etc. Other than Dyno runs, they won't be putting that kind of power to the rear wheel when riding on the street.

You don't need 300hp to do 200mph on a bike.

Japanese bike manufacturers have agreed to limit the top speed to @186mph since 2001+ to prevent import bans. The Suzuki Hayabusa only has @155-162hp depending on year, and it can do 185-196mph depending on whether or not it is restricted.

The fastest a MotoGP bike has gone to date is 217.2 set in free practice this year at the Italian GP on a Ducati GP14. They won't reveal true HP numbers, but 235+ is the official rating.

Street bikes have been going 200mph since the late 1990s when the Hayabusa was introduced and that was putting about 160hp down at the rear wheel.
