Alright, this is on a pretty fresh install of Mandrake 8.2 (yeah, yeah, it picked up my Promise ATA100 controller without a hitch). I installed KDE3 exactly as mandrake.com says after downloading all the rpms. Well things seem to work, until I try to move an app from one desktop to another.
For example, I usually keep one desktop open just for apps that I am currently using. Seems normal. Well then I pop over apps that are running but I don't need the screen to various desktops. Let's say Folding at Home. I open a console window, load it up, then try to move it to desktop 2. Well the computer stays running along with the processes, but now I can't use the menu bar at the bottom to switch desktops. Basically, it freezes the menu bars, and I need to reboot in order for them to work again? Any ideas?
-kovert
BTW - I'm thinking of jumping to something else besides mandrake, but it installed so easy
