is this monitor worth $156 even if they don't send rebates? Has anyone had any problems getting their rebates?

From all the kds monitor threads I've read, I haven't heard one complaint about rejected/no-show rebates.
Quite the opposite, in fact -- many comments saying "fastest rebate ever" (including me, the purchaser of TWO of these deals)

I've never delt with rebates. Just I print out the whole rebate and send it in? Or just the part with my info? Do I make a copy of the UPC to send in with the other rebate?

Print, fill in, attach UPC (when required) and receipt (or copies when acceptable) , make copies of everything and mail originals. Oh yeah, note the date you sent it in for future reference.

just gave away a 19" KDS crt I bought a year ago for 120$ shipped. Compared to my 19" Walmart balance brand lcd it was total crap. Fuzzy, colors not as vibrant. decent refresh rates 100 at 1024x768 but still garbage in the clarity department.

also, cut the number of headaches in half, eye strain down as well. No longer painful after playing for an extended period and closing my eyes to what was a familiar burning feeling.

I couldnt find one. Its gotta be worth $67 regardless if you get the rebates. If you don't get them then not to sure on $150 ish though. My bro inlaw has a 17" KDS that looks just like this thats not a bad monitor at all for low budget. Hes been using it for a year now without problems. Hes owned 2 but sold one.

My brother bought a 17" and had it burn out in a year but he probably spilt something in it. Hes kinda nasty.

Guys, I just got in on this deal, and its a great one! I ordered on Monday and recieved the monitor on Wed! The box did have a big hole in the side, but luckily the monitor was fine. Hooked it up and its looking good. Im undecided whether its any better than my Samsung 955DF but it does support higher refresh rates. Some quirks: Interestingly, Windows XP Pro is only detecting it as a standard plug and play monitor. If I go to set the resolution to 1600 x 1200 it only has 60 hz as a refresh rate. However if I uncheck the box that says "hide refresh rates this monitor cannot display" and manually select 75Hz it works fine. Anyone else have this issue? Oh one other thing, the display makes a much louder click whenever changing resolutions compared to what my Samsung does. Still a steal of a deal though! Now I just need to decide which one to keep.

It's not much, but there's some user reviews. And I'm typing on one right now. It's not the greatest monitor in the world, but I can't complain. It looks pretty sharp and is nice and bright. I've done everything from surf the net to play games on it and can't find anything that would stop me from recommending it (especially at $67!). I also have another one still in its box for the new computer I'm building.

I picked one up yesterday; since my old CRT was broken I didn't want to wait on delivery. Nice monitor, not too heavy (for a 19" tube, anyway), flat screen. Only little quibble is, it takes a bit of time to switch resolutions and it does so with a loud click.

Well, the other problem is it barely fit in my car (97 Nissan Maxima), so if you're doing in-store pickup, this may be an issue for you.

Agreed. I had to sit in the back seat of Warlock's said '97 Nissan Maxima when we were driving the monitor back to Warlock's place - the thing did not fit in the trunk, and could not get through the rear door either.

Brighter than expected, good geometry, but I haven't spent too much time with it to comment further.

can someone give me directions on exactly how to get this. i barely have enough money for this so i can't really risk as much but everybody seems to have gotten it smoothly.

so first u add to cart then checkout?
do u enter the coupon code when u checkout?
then after youre done wtih the transaction they give u a receipt for u to print out?
and u print out those rebates and mail them with copies of the receipt u had when u checked out?

You checkout...during the checkout process you'll see a box to input the coupon code. Enter the coupon code and apply it. Then complete the checkout process with your CC, billing address, and ship to address. Once you receive the monitor, cut out the UPC and make copies of it and the original invoice. Make enough copies for yourself and each rebates. Print out the rebate forms via the links provided. Make sure also to STAPLE the UPC, invoice, and rebate form together (I didn't read thoroughly but I think one of them accepts copies of the UPC and invoice. Send in the completed forms, UPC, and invoice to the addresses provided on the rebate forms. And that should be it. I believe the links provided for the rebate forms also have a way to track your rebate. The rebate orgs will send you a check for the amount of the rebate. And by all means make sure you keep the copies of everything in a safe place where you can find them again. Problems may arise causing you to fax or send it the copies.

Nice crap. :disgust: Not all people are experienced in buying online and dealing with rebates. Here's a little lesson..not all people who are online are seasoned veterans.

Thanks guys,

I was mad when i missed this deal back at X-mas. Just ordered it online and should be delivered to my house tomorrow. Yeah!!!! I will not have to squint anymore when i play my online Combat flight simulator (AH2) and will be able to ID those boagies from a decent distance. Cureently use a 17" monitor with max refresh of 72Hz at 1280 x 1024. Will be nice to play games at 1600 x 1200 75Hz on a 2" bigger screen.

This is a no brainer at $177.38 - 30 - 50 - 30 = $67.38

from everything i have read, the XF-9s is the same as the XF-9b with a different color cabinet.....it should do 1600X1200@75hz but good luck getting drivers from http://www.kdsusa.com as their site has been screwed up for weeks now.....
their site does not list drivers for XF-9s but XF-9b is the same and you can't download that one either....and when i emailed the webmaster at KDSUSA about the website issues....the email bounced....

The link for the 9bi isn't working for me.

Btw, is everyone getting 1600x1200 @75hz? They highest I'm able to go is 70hz, higher and the monitor says "out of range".

The monitor is sharp and colors are good at 1600x1200...if only I could get 75hz. :frown:
