KDS Xf-9e 19in Xtreme-Flat Monitor 157.00 at Sams

I happened to be at sams today and seen this 19 in Monitor. I couldn't pass it up for the price. I did have to take the display. They told me that KDS had lowered the price to get rid of them fast. This is a flat screen CRT monitor. So far the picture seems pretty good. Far better than my 17 in CTX monitor. I thought this deal was pretty hot and would pass it along to everyone. I picked it up at the Springfield, IL Sams.

I just bought this the last time it was placed on here (mainly because I was in need of one). Does anybody know if Sam's offers price adjustments?

BTW, for people wondering about quality for the price, I am so far very satisfied with the monitor...looks really great, bright, and everything is very clear. Very hot deal if you can get in on it. EDIT: BTW, I was at the same Sam's less than a week ago, and they still had about 5-7 of these same monitors. The store I go to is the Loop 410 between Callaghan & Evers Rd. in San Antonio, TX.

Just going to throw in my 2 cents...so far nothing but excellent support from the KDS people...sent us a replacement, replacement was different model # but they were out of stock on the VS-9e, my brother complained, they sent us the VS-9e, paid for return shipping on the other one(it was a crappier model but not by much, shorter neck though), the wiring on the replacement VS-9e was whacked, they sent us ANOTHER VS-9e and paid for return ship on the VS-9e(the monitor seemed to have some kind of wiring problem to the connector, I thought it was just not tight since the other inferior replacement had a loose connection that I tightened[brother is computer incompetant]). I felt bad that my brother had complained about the other monitor since I didn't really mind getting a slightly crappier one since it was a newer model and had a shorter stance. Plus it worked. So all in all KDS paid shipping to us for 3 monitors, and shipping back to them for another 2. This probably cost them more than I ever paid them lol...

Oh and this is the 2nd time I had to replace it. So total they've paid 4x shipping to us, and 2x shipping back or 6 shipments. And now I know why KDS was going bankrupt...lol

Although to be honest if they hadn't sent us the incorrect replacement and then sent us a broken one, it wouldn't have cost them this much. So if you're looking to start a monitor company, make sure your employees MAKE SURE the same things work before sending them out.

What was wrong with the first / original one that you had replaced?

We have a KDS 17" monitor that has been in pretty steady use for a few years now and it's starting to lose sync, momentarilly, every now and again. About due for a replacement--but--holding out on a good deal for an energy efficient LCD display.

Im pretty sure there is. Also you can go w/ a friend of yours that is a member I think. Actually Im pretty sure you can just be added to their account for like 10 or 15 bucks.

when sam's gets rid of their displays, they will typically mark it down w/o any special price tags at all. a month ago, i purchases a display rad-7 (17" lcd) which i was told that they are no longer going to carry that. the price tag listed $374, so i figured it was a no brainer and bought that last one on display. works fine.

Well as always YMMV I've gotten 3 of these monitors from the SAME sam's club in fresno. All 3 were bad I won't take a chance after that many. I've had good KDS monitors in the past but this particular model stinks to my nose. It's soured me.

for those interested in specifics after 1 week of running the first monitor got really blurry in the center and sharp on the edges.
Second monitor was bad from the box everything blurry not useable.
3rd monitor was good like first one for around 1.5 weeks and then did exactly same as first.. icons in the center of screen unreadable edges nice and sharp.
I know all about the gravitational pull being different in different locations however i've built 6 other computers in the spot I'm using this monitor with NO troubles in the past.. I understand with some monitors there is an adjustment for this.. but it's not something I'm going to crack open the case just to fix.. I'd rather spend "and did spend" the money to get something I won't have to dink with to get it working.

foolish me bought the xf-7e for $140 thinking that was the monitor.. then i came back and realized it was a 19" that was on clearance.. fark!
havent plugged it in but im sure itll be a nice LANparty monitor.
but beat this i cant return it because:

i snuck into sams and convinced a stranger to buy it for me

actually at costco if you are over 21 and are going to buy alcohol they have to let you in, some wack law we have here in michigan i guess. i pull that with my friends and get their $10 pizzas that feed 4 starving college students!!!

Apparently it's $209 until they sell the last one. Then they mark the display down.
Have to keep an eye out to see when the local sams club marks down their last one.
