Keep having the "I'm back in school and don't know where my classes are" dream

I think everyone has this dream from time to time, and it's driving me crazy because I have it at least 3 times a week.

I'll be in school, and suddenly realize I haven't been there for months. You realize your grades must be terrible because you haven't done any homework or taken any tests, then it hits you that you don't even know where your classes are. You can't ask anyone because they'll wonder what the hell is wrong with you.

I'm getting so used to this dream that last night I even found a way around the problem: "I'm going to go to the office and ask for my class schedule, then tell them I need it for insurance purposes to prove I'm in school..."

Do they have pills for this?

Probably because you have a deadline. I had this dream multiple times the first year out of school.

Supposedly it means that I am fearing of losing something important or aging or something like that.

I'm 45 and still have this dream occasionally. I'll have it several days in a row, then it goes away for a time, then comes back for several days in a row again.

heh- I graduated in 1989, but the dreams are so vivid! I can actually see details on the school's stairwells, gum on the floor, the heating pipes...everything.

Mine is a little different. It's just one class that I forgot I had and haven't been to since the beginning of the year. I spend the rest of the dream trying to remember where the classroom was.

Wow. Yeah I get the same exact dream sometimes its so weird.

It does tend to be more often the type where I arrive for a final exam and only then realize I haven't even been to classes for a long time and wouldn't possibly know what's on the exam.

I thought it was becsuse I did cut a lot of classes during my school years

I've had a similar dream of having to back to 12th grade to graduated and I always feel old as hell and I don't belong. It's a very weird feeling dream, that's for sure.

I've had that dream before. I think it was more along the lines of finding out last minute that I had a final, and then trying to cram and learn all kinds of things in time.

Also, have had the classic, I'm in school naked dream, too. Goooood times.

I usually have a similar dream, where I realize I am in a class (grade, high school or college) and it is the end of the year/semester and I have no recollection of what was taught. It is as if I am Sam from Quantum Leap and I dropped into this.

Yep, had these type of dreams once in a while for the first 5 or so years out of college. Haven't had one in a long time though.

On the subject of not knowing where classes were, that's actually how I ended up dropping out of High School. I couldn't find my first class of the first day in a building I had been going to school at for 3 years already.

Wow - get out of my head.
There's a sinking feeling you're deeply screwed by that one class you conveniently forgot all semester. You dread finding out how badly your failing, yet feel compelled to show up. Unfortunately you don't know where it is, so you fumble around campus poking your head into rooms full of strangers. Sit down - realize its the wrong class and exit.
It's not like I'm fresh out of school either. The dream has no bearing on real life.

I have that dream. In it all I know is there's a lot of school related stuff I was supposed to do, but I blew it all off sometime in the past. I know I should be in some class right then, but I'm so behind in the course work that there's no point in even going. It has kind of a weird hopeless "give up and live in a box on the street" quality to it.

I actually missed a final.

I had and IE 90 class and an EE 90 class. I wrote out a finals schedule. Somehow I mixed up the IE and EE 90 class time. I showed up 30 minutes early for my EE 90 final and there was a classmate sitting outside the class. He asked how I did. I said the class was in 30 minutes, he said no the final is going on right now. D: My shit froze!! I walked in and to the professor I messed up and would do what I could in 30 minutes. He asked if I was an EE major. I wasn't. He said that he had a final later that day and he would make another final for me and I could take it then. Later he told me if I was an EE major he would not have done that for me. Not sure why.

My final was of course harder than the one the rest of the class took, but hey at least I passed the class.
