Keep having the "I'm back in school and don't know where my classes are" dream

Decades later I still have that dream where I show up for a class and find out that I missed taking a major midterm.

But the one that I have almost weekly: I need _one_ more class to graduate and keep failing it out of shear laziness. I've even had it over high school graduation and dream that I keep going back to high school every fall into my 40s to take that one class.

Yep, I have this same dream occasionally. Its always an english class...even though I only took one english class in college and did great at it...oh well.

I have that dream. In it all I know is there's a lot of school related stuff I was supposed to do, but I blew it all off sometime in the past. I know I should be in some class right then, but I'm so behind in the course work that there's no point in even going. It has kind of a weird hopeless "give up and live in a box on the street" quality to it.

That's it exactly. You feel so helpless and disappointed in yourself, and sometimes if you wake up in the middle of the dream you're full of anxiety and depressed.

On the subject of not knowing where classes were, that's actually how I ended up dropping out of High School. I couldn't find my first class of the first day in a building I had been going to school at for 3 years already.

I had that dream not too long ago. The dream was that I had been skipping classes and couldn't remember what assignments were due or hadn't studied for exams/didn't know what was on them.

I don't think that ever happened in my college career too much. I hate that feeling of not being prepared for something.

School's been out a long time ago for me, but I can still remember the panic from those dreams:
- Wake up late and miss a final exam
- Not having enough credit or failing a class that will affect graduation
- Losing my class schedule and not knowing when and where to go to class
- A weird one is an unstable elevator in the dorm building I have to take and my room is on the top floor

I had this problem with drug dreams. After I quit getting high I started having really lucid dreams about partying and wake up freaking out thinking I'd relapsed. Happened for many years.

While it's stressful it's also a sad nostalgia of times past. You felt young again and time traveled for a brief moment.

That's what dreams are for. I had a dream just last night about the amazing naked body of my best friend's sister. Never mind that I saw her 15 years ago and by then she'd had three kids and gained 40 lbs. She was absolutely amazing in my dream.

I'm 34 and have this dream very often. I'm always back in High School and can;t find my classes or don't remember which classes I have that day.

This probably the only re-occurring dream I have.

I think everyone has this dream from time to time, and it's driving me crazy because I have it at least 3 times a week.

I'll be in school, and suddenly realize I haven't been there for months. You realize your grades must be terrible because you haven't done any homework or taken any tests, then it hits you that you don't even know where your classes are. You can't ask anyone because they'll wonder what the hell is wrong with you.

I'm getting so used to this dream that last night I even found a way around the problem: "I'm going to go to the office and ask for my class schedule, then tell them I need it for insurance purposes to prove I'm in school..."

Do they have pills for this?

Wow, I have a recurring dream that's essentially identical to yours - in it I'm stressed, since I haven't attended/forgot some class I need to graduate and I wonder how I'll be able to pass it to get my degree. The whole vibe of it is hopelessness; nothing I can do to help the situation.

I've had this dream at least 5-6 times now; must be a common stress point for people. I've finished Grad school in 2007 also....

There's a sinking feeling you're deeply screwed by that one class you conveniently forgot all semester. You dread finding out how badly your failing, yet feel compelled to show up. Unfortunately you don't know where it is, so you fumble around campus poking your head into rooms full of strangers. Sit down - realize its the wrong class and exit.

Yep. I've probably had this exact dream 8 or 9 times. Luckily it's been a few years since I've had it. It actually stresses me a bit just thinking about the feeling of hopelessness that dream gave me.

It's weird because I think I studied a lot more than the average kid at my school, and I hardly ever have these dreams. Maybe because I tried to do as well as I wanted, not to achieve any particular GPA, and because for the most part I didn't give a shit about undergrad. However, in a moment of clairvoyance I did have a dream that I had forgotten I was registered for a chemistry class and completely forgot about it. The same day after reviewing my grades for my freshman year, thinking about how much I hated computers for work-purposes, and how I just couldn't see myself doing much in EE, I switched to biochem.
