Keeping Word 2008 on Spaces Desktop 2

I have a question about Spaces.

I set Word to always load in Spaces 2 and stay in Spaces Desktop 2 from the spaces pref.

Everytime I launch Word If I am in another Space like desktop 1 it will load there. Also whenever i click it, randomly every so often instead of going to space 2 where word is it just moves it to space 1.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

It is distinctly possible that there is no way to fix this. Some apps just do not obey the rules. Take Frostwire for example, if I am in Space 2 with iTunes, and want to jump to Space 1 where Frostwire resides (though admittedly, although I use Space 1 for internet things, Frostwire is really only used on my system for AV things, the domain of Space 2, but I digress) and I click the Frostwire icon in my Dock (left side all the way, you autohiding bottom-dockers can stick it, yes, I am looking at you Tyranicus!) it will not switch Space. So instead I have to either hit F8 to bring up all my Spaces, and then select Space 1, or hit Safari and then Frostwire. Annoying to say the least.

It is distinctly possible that Office 08, kludgy yet pretty though it is, does not obey Spaces properly.

This is actually a known issue with Office 2008. No way to fix this as of yet.

Office 2008 has ALOT of issues that are terribly annoying....one issue that really affects me is how when using word with multiple documents if I try to put the different documents in different spaces, this is not possible....instead of being able to select what document goes in what space, it just puts every document in one space. BTW, wasn't Office 2008 supposed to actually run at a decent speed on intel systems???? LOL

Office 2008 is just horrible. I got a new mac pro at work in January and they gave me Office 2008 with it. Excel documents can take up to 2 minutes to load. And these are only 50 line spreadsheets. I've tried tricks on the internet to speed things up, but nothing has really helped.

I've got to the point where I've just given up until they can patch it to work right and started using Open Office.

Office 2008 is a F'in joke.

Is it just my mac or does office take like 7 bounces of the word icon just to open the splash screen which then takes like 15 sec to load? I have the newest pernyn c2d 2.4ghz mbp with 2 gigs of ram... is my computer that slow already or is it just word?

It is Word.

Honestly, just get Pages, it only takes about 1/3 as long to launch, plays nice with Spaces, is very easy to use, and unless you need Word compatibility, there is no reason not to.

I have never been very fond of the free office alternatives on OS X, most of them feel very kludgy and do not fit in.

my problem with this option is I don't use these products enough to justify buying them.. as I get office for free from work But I do get a hefty discount on iWork, so maybe I should.

but I'll add to the office 2008 is just plain terrible. maybe open office 3 will bring another decent option to the table.
