The average size in America is a 12 for women.

Just because she doesn't look like a rail doesn't mean she's "fat" or morbidly obese. Sure, she could drop a couple pounds. But you know what? Maybe she's comfortable being that weight and it's not so much extra flab that it's going to kill her. Dur.

I don't think we need to redefine anything. Being overweight is unhealthy and unattractive. She needs to make better decisions about her health, being slim is just the positive side effect.

Yah, but I feel like our definition of "a few extra pounds" is allowing for a little more weight every year. I never said she had to be a toothpick but those are the most flattering clothes she could have worn and she still looks huge. I'm just trying to say America has a big problem with obesity and that is skewing our ability to say when someone needs to make better life choices.

That being said, it appears we have redefined healthy these days. Just because a supermodel is hot and thin doesn't necessarily mean she's healthy. If you look at the pinup girls from the '50s and '60s you'll see that they actually had hips rather than hipbones.

Ooh, that'd be hot. And I'm not saying that sarcastically. They both look just fine. I don't get the obsession with stick insects these days. Look at models from the 50s and earlier (all the way to ancient times) and you'll see that for most of human history, people valued curves on women. Now for some reason they all have to be 100-lb waifs or they're fat? I'm not saying that I like fatties but there's a huge difference between the OP pic and a fatty :disgust:

She's a "performer". Most of these pre-manufactured stars don't write their own music and they lip sync to a digitally altered recording of them singing. The least they can do is look good.

She is unhealthily overweight. for her own health's sake she needs to lose weight. If people calling her fat "makes" her become anorexic (a ridiculous notion), then she puts too much stake into what other people think about her. She really did pork out though!

dude, that's not unhealthily overweight. she might have 20 extra pounds on her.

her body on the whole is probably healthy from years of being at a healthy weight. it takes more than weight fluctuation to suddenly pack on the problems assosciated with being overweight.
