pulse8, unfortunately I can't answer that question as I'm afraid to turn up the volume on these HTIAB speakers as they will likely blow. They are not designed to handle my poweful reciever. However at medium and low volumes I have never encountered static. That's usually something I've experienced with PC speakers.
Another question about the Flaunce:
How is the Bass on these speakers? I know they don't include a sub.
How is the Bass with both music and movies? Do you think a sub is needed; does it sound like something is missing w/o the sub?
Actually, I figured out what the problem is. The speaker and active EQ funtions on the receiver are either creating the hum or making it louder. I was playing around with them and realized they were on. If I turn them off, the hum is barely there with the sound all the way up. I haven't seen much effect on the way the movie plays either.
To answer your question about bass. I've always had a sub with mine and I've listened to the Fluance speakers a little without it to test some stuff out and I must say they do provide a decent amount of bass, but the sound is not even comparable to a system with a sub. If you're looking for a system, you'll probably be very happy with the $200 set of Fluances and
this sub. I've ordered it, but have not received it yet. I've read nothing but good things about the previous model and this one is sure to not disappoint.
With the Fluance speakers, that sub and this Kenwood receiver, you'll have yourself a nice entry-level home theater system for a low price. All three seem to be the best products you can buy for their price range.
