Man, I have this and I don't know how to get rid of it.
I probably have had it since I was 7 years old.

Anyone know any cures ?

Very old thread.

No joke, ever time I've gotten a good burn on that part of my arm they all go away until it get all pasty white through the winter again.

No cure, but hot humid climates work wonders. My skin has been perfect since moving to Florida.

I have this too and I use stuff called AHA lotion. Has some type of mild acid in it and it will reduce the redness and make your arms a lot smoother. I use it only on my upper arms. You have to keep using it or it will just go back to the way it was over time. I dont think it will completely get rid of it either but it will make it less noticable. This is what i used I know its expensive

!! I have this too but never knew there was a term for it. It's on my arms and legs and has been there since I can remember.

No one has ever suggested a cure for it to me, though.

I have the same condition, but it has never really bothered me. I grew up and lived most of my life, about 25 years, down in Texas and having a tan down there probably did the most to hide them. After moving up to central Pennsylvania I have been gradually losing my tan and the bumps have become a bit more noticeable.

So my suggested cure? Move to the southwest and darken up some!

it never really bothered me much either, maybe because my upper arms are always covered? I live in central PA also.

It started for me about 6 years ago. I'm not exactly sure when it happened but all of a sudden I had these red dots all over my arms and thighs. First Dr. I went to was a quack but at least he diagnosed it correctly. Never used anything on it, I just avoid being close to people.

I have it too, but it comes and goes depending on the time of the season.

During the winter, its very noticable.

During the summer, its hard to see on my arms.

I live in AZ

Wait, that isn't acne? Shit, I've had red dots and bumps on my upper arm for years now, and nothing I ever did made them go away

I've had severe Keratosis Pilaris for my entire life.

Every few years I go to the doctor in hopes of a miracle cure, no such luck yet unfortunately. The treatment has remained virtually the same for as long as I can remember. Lac Hydrin (sp) which is urea based. It stings a bit and really turns my arms red, but it did help reduce the appearance of the dots somewhat.

I've found that strong sunlight and salt water to be a fantastic "cure" for Keratosis Pilaris. In the summer time I have completely normal skin. Late fall through late spring however my skin looks like total and complete diseased ass.

I used to take cod liver oil pills for it. Works like a charm. The secret is really vitamin E, which is why sunlight exposure seems to work as well. Try a vitamin E supplement (preferably cod liver oil).

Edit: After looking a bit it seems that cod liver oil also contains large amounts of vitamin A, D, and omega-3 fatty acids. Perhaps one or all of these were responsible, but I tell you the stuff really does work.

Try wearing looser fitting clothes. Specifically, loose fitting under shirts. This helps reduce the rubbing of the cloth against the skin as you move. Also, buy under garments without polyester in them. Most t-shirts you can buy these days have as much polyester as cotten. Look for ones higher in cotten, lowerin polyester. Your shirts tend to have the highest contact to your skin on the upper back/shoulders and the outside of your arms near your shoulders, You may have a mild allergy causing those bumbs where your skin has the most contact with polyester. Don't laugh, allergies to polyester are common.

Struggled with this for years. Spent hundreds of dollars on treatments found online and dermatologist visits.

Eventually the solution I found that works the best was simple. I use a mixture of table salt and olive oil. Just apply in the shower and use a battery powered exfoliating brush.

Took a couple weeks to notice a difference but it worked. Hope this helps for anyone finding this.
