Kerry Dumps Joe Wilson From Campaign Team

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Last week, the presidential campaign of Democratic candidate Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) very publicly distanced itself from former National Security Advisor Samuel "Sandy" Berger after it became known that Berger was under investigation for removing highly classified documents from the National Archives. Talon News reported that Kerry's anti-terror policy was removed from the candidate's web site immediately following Berger's dismissal as a campaign advisor.

But in the last few days, another advisor has apparently been jettisoned from the Kerry campaign. All traces of former Ambassador Joe Wilson, the central figure in the controversy of faulty intelligence about Iraq and uranium has disappeared from the Kerry web site. Wilson had appeared on a web site www.restorehonesty.com where he restated his criticism of the Bush administration. The link now goes directly to the main page of www.johnkerry.com and no reference to Wilson can be found on the entire site.

Wilson was discredited by a Senate Intelligence Committee report that contradicted Wilson's public statements about how he was selected for a sensitive mission to Niger in 2002 and the results of his report about Saddam Hussein's attempt to purchase uranium in Africa. Wilson represented his investigation as proof that President Bush misled the United States in making the case for the invasion of Iraq. An investigation into British intelligence confirms that Bush's claim was "well founded."

It is likely that Kerry's handlers took advantage of the Berger affair to quietly break official contact with someone who has proved to be something of a loose cannon. The ambassador was known for his vitriolic rhetoric against members of the Bush administration, particularly political advisor Karl Rove. Last year he suggested that Rove be "frog-marched from the White House in handcuffs," over the alleged leak of his wife's identity.

The Kerry campaign did not respond to a Talon News inquiry about Wilson's departure.

That's the same "news" site that lied a few days ago about Kerry's foreign policy agenda being removed from the Kerry website. Looks like they're doing it again. The Kerry website was revamped completely a few days ago and old URLs no longer work.

Bunch of tinfoil-hat wearers at that "news" site.

That's it. Use your normal Liberal tactic of slamming the messenger and ignoring the message without even taking a moment to check out the facts of the article. This appears to be very typical of Liberals throughout this site.

I went to www.restorehonesty.com
It in fact DID loop be right into www.johnkerry.com
I performed a search at the site and Joe Wilson HAS been extracted from the site.

Attacking the messenger does nothing to refute the story.
Talon News is 100% accurate in this report.

Conjur. Can you explain why Kerry has dumped Joe Wilson from the campaign?

That's the message accurately reported by Talon.

Screw the source. Even Al Jezeera finds an acorn once in a while.

Ozoned: Sorry for the repost, but I didn't see any mention in the other threads of the extracation of anything "Joe Wilson" from the Kerry campaign.

There is no proof other than what that website says.

And, that website LIED just five days ago claiming Kerry's website removed all traces of its foreign policy agenda. I pointed this out in another thread and PROVED that talonnews.com lied as the text of Kerry's foreign policy agenda is still on his website, just in a different location. www.johnkerry.com has been redesigned and old URLs may no longer work. A broken URL means Kerry removed all traces of his foreign policy agenda? Ridiculous.

Therefore, I hold as much credence to this new story from this "news" site as I do that Batboy is actually roaming around Afghanistan looking for bin Laden.

Campaigns typically discard baggage as it occurs. They are trying to travel light, who can blame them? they are playing defense and not really willing to go out on a limb for any "operatives," including sandy burgler.

smashp,
Nope.
Yesterday was my first day in here.
Ask the admin to check my IP address if you think I'm a duplicate user.

I'm the real deal.

DealMonkey,
I'm nobody's sidekick.

Conjur,
Yes, destroying specific url's and ALL specific references to Wilson is a bit fishy.
You let me know even one time where you have given Bush the benefit of the doubt and I will recant the premise of this thread.
Otherwise your criticism of this thread is completely hollow.

BTW, I'm just curious, are you a Moderator or the Administrator?

I guess you've never redesigned or implemented a major website, eh?

Go search my posts (archived messages) from last year during the run-up to the invasion and you'll find me greatly in favor of the war.

My criticism is spot-on.

BTW, I'm just curious, are you a Moderator or the Administrator?
Neither.

Last time I checked it was still illegal, unethical, and borderline treasonous for Joseph Wilson's wife to be exposed by the Bush administration. Which was the main beef Wilson had with Bush.

On topic: "advisor has apparently been jettisoned" and "It is likely that Kerry's handlers" does not, IMHO, live up to the claim broadcast in the article's headline that "Kerry Dumps Joe Wilson From Campaign".

Off topic: CADmaster is no Rip by any stretch of the imagination, and it's a disservice to him to call him so, again, IMHO. I think we all fall into the trap of heated oppostition in the middle of our little debates, but I've seen several signs of civility and resonableness and intelligence in some of Cmaster's other posts.

The dynamics of this forum seem to coarsen all of us. Interesting.

True, I have not. Seems odd that the Kerry campaign would overhaul their website mid campaign, doesn't it? (not being sarcastic with the question, it seems odd to me. Perhaps I am mistaken)

Okay. On that ground I will drop this tack.

We can disagree on that count, but I assume that you do not find the switch on their website fishy.
I haven't heard anyone else coming in on my side who knows web design and maintenance, So it would be incumbent of me to give you the benefit of my doubt.

Neither.

I agree. Did we ever find out who was responsible for the leak?
Tenet perhaps?

BTW, my opinion of Novak is something that I cannot describe here without a warning from the Moderator. He should at least reveal his source in the interest of National Security.

Tenet? I highly doubt that.

The likely culprit is either Rove or Libby. Perhaps even Cheney but I think he'd want to distance himself and maintain plausible deniability. It has to be someone very high up since this has been covered-up for months.

The investigation is still under way but the special prosecutor, Fitzgerald, has a penchant for thorough investigations.

Thanks for the defense perknose.

I have a thick enough skin so I'm not taking offense by anything said.
I'd much rather the discussion remain on topic rather than get personal.
I have the same respect for the left in here that I do for the right.
