There use to be a place by me called Sconecutters that served fries like that. They were the best things ever.

in n out actually still does that. its only on the secret menu, not on the actual menu, so only people who know about it can order it, haha. its not much of a secret tho, as everyone gets it anyways.

you forgot vinegar, i personally use ketchup, but i know in germany, many of them use vinegar, they even have it in little ketchup packets

I love ketchup on my fries(I'll use 1/4-1/2 of a 24oz ketchup bottle on one order of fries, BTW.). Mayo is good on the occasional order of fries. I don't eat any other sauces, though.

Usually, either Mad Sauce (you know, the Mickey D's one) and pickallily (don't know if it's widely known outisde of the country, it's basically vinegar+oil+lots of semi-mashed vegetables), or just mayo and curry (not the Indian one).

I'm constantly amazed that "fry sauce" has never caught on outside of Idaho/Utah. It's just a mixture of mayo and ketchup. If you like it more creamy, use a little more mayo...if you like it thinner with more of the tomato taste use more ketchup. Every one of you should at least try it. It's delicious!

Not true. It's always existed in Oregon and Washington. Pretty much anywhere Arctic Circle had a franchise.

My gf actually bought me a case for christmas once, because I constantly complained about having to go to Burger King because they were the only ones that had it now. I've found it's best with BK or Jack in the Box fries, and worst with Wendy's fries.

I just found the wiki page for the restaraunt...it lists Utah, California, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming as franchise states. So there you have it. Reason #973,495,623,486,283,759,324,752,394,650 why the West and Pacific NW are > *.
