The crazy thing is I can't tell what you're disagreeing with. That Kevin Smith named his daughter after a comic book character, or that doing so is not in the slightest bit problematic.

It's certainly crap, and well worth ignoring, but I don't think I would label it "making fun." It's quite a bit more vicious than that. I like the fact that he called the guy out, even though it is certainly giving him more attention than he deserves. To use the Internet in any social capacity these days you need to have thick skin. Well, you should in the real world too, but especially so on the Internet. That doesn't make it ok, and repeated vicious attacks on people seems to me a sign of some mental and/or personal problems, but the best way to handle it is to ignore it like it didn't happen.
