What new keyboard shortcuts have you learned? This is what I've learned and have been using lately.

CTRL + SHIFT + TAB as a reverse tab. It's kinda slow, and when you have more than 9 tabs it's pretty useful, when you cant do CTRL + # if you have 9.

CTRL + BACKSPACE for deleting 'words' or 'strings of text'. Type "one two three", hold CTRL and then BACKSPACE it will delete the string backwards, so you'd need to press it 3 times to erase all of those. (This is pretty useful if you're coding.. and have something long and messed up.. or renaming stuff from pasted links/URIs)

CTRL + SHIFT + LEFT/RIGHT ARROW will move around strings of text.. this is very useful

ALT + First letter of menu .. ex ALT + F for File, etc. Yeah this is old but I hadn't relied upon it as much.

Mouse scroll bar on a link to open it in a new tab (Firefox + Logitech mouse, dunno bout rest)

ALT + Mouse scroll down/up will go up/down by line.

Well, these are what I've been using lately. If anyone has a shortcut for going up one level when you press Open a file, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Or if you have a short way of doing a reverse tab.

Mouse scroll bar? You mean a middle click?

Scroll wheel or mouse button 3.

OP, try out ALT + F4 and don't come back!

I wasn't gonna list the common keyboard shortcuts.. I assume everyone on Anandtech knows them. These being (at the top of my head)

CTRL X = cut
CTRL C = copy
CTRL V = paste
Alt Tab
Alt F4
CTRL + W = close a window
Ctrl + T = open a new tab
Ctrl + F4 = slower than Ctrl + W, but close a tab
Page up/Page Down/Home /End
Windows Key + M to minimize, D to get to desktop
Ctrl + F to find, Esc to close find
Windows Key + L to lock.
CTRL + A = select all
Shift + Up/Down Arrow = select a line or so in MS Word

cant think of any more off the top of my head, gotta go somewhere...

I use these all the time:

Ctrl+left arrow -> go left a word
Ctrl+right arrow -> go right a word
Ctrl+backspace -> delete last word (sometimes enters a null character in Windows instead)

Ctrl+home -> go to start of document
Ctrl+end -> go to end of document

In Excel I use combinations of Ctrl, Shift, Arrows, and Home/End. Very useful.

Also, in Word, I always define my own symbol shortcuts. Ctrl+d for degrees, Ctrl+"=" for +/-, Ctrl+n for N with ~. Do it in the symbol menu.

The following 3 will open a new window and allow you to load a different webpage without using your mouse:

Ctrl N --> Opens new window with current page
Alt D --> highlights Address bar so you can type a different website
Ctrl Enter --> Will insert "http://www" at front and ".com" at end after you type name of website you want to go to. For example type ESPN and hit ctrl Enter.

Windows Key + E - Opens My Computer (Windows explorer)
Alt - Tab - Toggle between all open windows

if you type in a phrase in FF address bar and press enter, it will go to google and pull up the first result without going to any page.
