<< hmm... if one were inclined to do so, couldn't they just swap keyboards? Fingerprint scanner wouldn't be much good then would it?

Usually, you can either use your fingerprint to gain access or the old-fashioned password. If the option to use a password as a backup was disabled and the keyboard was switched, theoretically, there would be no way to get into the computer. Obviously, this is all dependent on the software that's used but it's out there.
