keyboard won't work on bootup!

my keyboard, and other keyboards wont work on bootup. i plug it in, and during bootup, it makes this weird clicking noise. when i unplug it, the noise goes away. the system doesnt say "keyboard error" or anything. i just continues to boot and when it goes to windows startup screen, the sound goes away. after windows is done loading, i cant use my keyboard.

however, my keyboard is a wireless that is why i am able to type right now. i am trying to get into my system bios but wireless keyboard is not recognized until windows is booted up and regular keyboards cause that clicking noise to occur. any suggestions? this problem was rare at first , but it has become more and more frequent and now it just doesnt go away.

Is the wireless keyboard USB? Because it sounds like the problem you're having is from a bad keyboard port. (be it a ps2 or AT standard)

When you get a clicking noise, it probably sounds as though it's coming through the PC speaker.... There may be a shorted pin on the connector that's causing a *stuck key* error. That error...or shorted pin would stop the keyboard from working altogether....if that's the case.

To the best of my knowledge, USB does not work outside of windows, so it would not work in your bios. As for the clicking i couldn't say. . .
