I got the G400s gaming mouse for free and now I need a keyboard. I want a backlit mechanical keyboard. I want a white keyboard but that doesn't matter. Under $130.

Nice score on the mouse! I assume that the "white" part of your keyboard matters less than price. I recommend this $100 Cooler Master Quickfire TK. It's got red backlight to preserve night vision, NKRO, and Cherry MX Red mechanical keys.

They do make non-backlit mechanical keyboards, and for much cheaper than the backlit kind! You can get one for around $70.

As for the wrist rest: couldn't you buy a separate one which is likely going to be of higher quality than a slab of plastic for $10 or so? I'd get the Cooler Master one if you like the backlight, but otherwise, the keyboards are nearly identical aside from appearance (same key type, roughly the same size, connects via wired USB).

It's worth considering, since it'll work with pretty much every keyboard in the world. you might also get more elevation and support out of a cushion than a slab of plastic.

G710+ is now only $108 on Amazon and has a white backlight.

I think he wants a white keyboard, not white lights, but I use the G710+ and absolutely love it. Switched to it from a Blackwidow Ultimate that had non-stop issues. The only thing I don't like, is you can't remap all the keys like you could with older Logitech KBs and every Razer keyboard; can only remap the G keys.

I don't even know if I want mechanical...

Trust me, you do. They last longer, you can press as many keys at a time as you want without ghosting, you don't have to depress the key all the way to get it to register, and there is feedback. Once you use one everything else feels like a wet sponge.

Pretty much every point you described gets one-upped by a membrane based Topre.

I guess you could make a case for Blues having slightly more tactile feedback than a Realforce; but, if the downsides of a blue switch are that important to you, a Model FAT would better serve you.

They needn't click all the time if you get the right kind, although any key will make noise if you bottom out. With practice, however, many people learn not to bottom out, in which case a red or brown switch makes very little noise.

I've gone Topre myself, after buying and trying MX blue and brown. Expensive, but relatively quiet and the best key feel I've experienced.

They have weird drivers that require internet for no reason, and their QC has dropped as of late. It's not the Razer you remember.

I just had a razer keyboard 2 months ago...I sold it because we got in a bind for cash. I want to spend less then $100. I think the Razer DeathStalker will suit my needs for now. Until I get a job.

Those chiclet keys do not appeal to me personally. Try it out in a store first if you can to see if you'll actually like them.
