Keyboards don't like milk...

Okay, so I'm an idiot for having something liquid by my computer. I was thirsty though... Mmm... milk. Anyways, after spilling a good 16oz+ onto my keyboard, one of the shift keys acted like it was stuck. So I shake the keyboard a little bit and try and suck it out with a vaccuum. Well... the left shift key isn't stuck anymore, but it doesn't work either along with the A key. Good thing I had a spare keyboard laying around. Anyways, what kind of keyboard would you recommend (the one I killed was an HP with the multimedia keys)?

I am a really big fan of the Microsoft Natural Keyboard series. Right now, I have the Internet Pro keyboard from Microsoft...and I don't really like the feeling when I type (it feels as if the keys are really tight), but the hot keys at the top of the keyboard are what's keeping me attached to the keyboard. If it wasn't for those, I would've switched back my Natural Keyboard Elite. I think Logitech also makes some nice keyboards. Hope this helps.

AMDStunna, you thnk milk does damage? Try Diet Coke Anyway, I'd go w/ any of the Logitech k/b's as I've always been quite happy w/ them. Since my last "accident," I've been using a MS Office K/B, and must say that it takes quite a bit of time to get used to. Can't wait to pick up my new LOgitech Cordless K/B. Hope this helps.

Hmm... I really liked that HP keyboard... Maybe I'll get this one. The shipping part sucks though.

I like the microsoft keyboards too. Right now Im using a Natural keyboard Pro and love it.
You should be able to fix your hp by popping off all the keys and putting alcohol over all the keys.
Push the keys a few times to let it soften up then rinse with alcohol again and let dry overnight.
I had to do this b4 when I spilled soda on my keyboard.

Hint, the higher alcohol content the better, 90% is usually pretty good. I used 99.9% electronic grade.

Mine didn't even like iced tea.. I mean.. COME ON! How can you not like iced tea? It's cool, refreshing. So after taking the keyboard matrix out and cleaning everything off.. with all those individual little rubber circle key depressers, putting it all back together.. finally figured it was the keyboard controller (didn't notice it was pretty wet from the iced tea as well. My roommate in college didn't hear the end of that for a while (he was the one that aided in knocking it out of my hands). *sigh*... off to experiment some more on the choice drink of keyboards.

I spilled coke in my keyboard. Thatw as fun. I just threw it in the dishwasher ( without heat or soap ) and it worked for 2 more days. Then I got another. I think it was cool that it worked at all
