Kfc gets douchy on free grilled chicken coupons

The problem was with the coupon printer - people slammed the servers, and it crashed or something, and the coupon printer didn't work. Because of this, Oprah (maybe not her, but someone who works for her) posted a PDF of the coupon for download on the Oprah website. This is why there was one coupon with the same barcode - which is a mess up on KFC/Oprah because it was supposed to be unique barcodes and etc.

I guess the KFC that is on 106th st in Harlem and 149th st in the Bronx are exceptions too. Those are inner city areas.

really? whenever go into chicago you drive (on the tollway) through some ghettos and guess what? they have KFC's and they are always busy.

Ok here's the thing, build a KFC in the ghetto, and build a Churches directly across the street from it. The KFC won't make it 6 months. When there are KFC's in bad areas, people will simply eat there because it's close and a lot rely on public transportation. You're not going to see people taking busses to get Popeyes chicken. But if a KFC is a block away they'll say "fuck it!" and eat there. Most areas I hang out there aren't KFCs, you'll see Churches for the most part. People in poor areas tend to eat whatever is close (IE walking distance) so any fast food place will do well in lower income areas. Even if they don't like it much. The black people in my neighborhood must like spending a buck for a stamp, because that's what the store up the street sells them for. They probably don't, but it's what they have access to.

I cannot explain White Castle, they SUCK and are not one of the eating establishments that litter the inner city people. Inner city people will eat pretty much any fast food you sell. it's horrifying to watch them eat really. And this coming from somebody who eats fast food about 5-8 times a week lol. WC is god awful and my explanation is the only that really makes sense to me. Except I think some exist in nice, or at least normal areas.

It happened here too. I didn't think a free meal was that critical to our country, but is shows the savages we live with.

I have printed one coupon and my wife will use it in the near future.

What did they expect when they came out with a coupon for an entire free meal, advertised it on Oprah, and made it available for each person to print 4 off the internet?

If they couldn't handle the load, then they should have done a different promotion or advertised it less heavily.

The problem is they are saying 90% of the coupons were not printed directly. Many made several copies of the same coupons, bypassed the 'coupon code' limiter, etc.

KFC is still doing the right thing and they are not renegging on the deal. They just need to remanage the process so fools don't bring down restaurants.

i call bs on that. since every pc printed out 4 legit coupons and the promotion lastsed a freakin day before they pulled it only the most heinous folks would have gotten any fake abuse through, you'd have to spend all day at kfc to do that. there were more than enough legit coupons to go around.

I traveled through some ghetto bits of Chicago for two years when working there, and there are plenty of successful KFC in those areas.

Of course in Chicago, they have to compete with Harold's Chicken Shack as well, but ONLY on the South Side.

I tried the grilled chicken a couple of days ago. It's edible.

Looking up the nutrition information I was shocked to see that a breast was only 180 calories and twenty-something grams of protein. That puts it squarely within the range of acceptable lunch items for me. Of course I don't really know or care what else is in it. Even without the coupon (which I didn't really care about anyway) it's a good thing to add to their menu. They'll be getting considerably more of my custom so long as they have it.

Yes, it was okay. I wouldn't have tried it without the free coupon. Tastes a lot like a KFC fried chicken breast without the fried stuff.

nothing particularly shocking, it tastes like most rotisary chickens. don't eat the skin and its just chicken, and thats not that bad for ya.
