I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I've used Kingston Hypermedia CD-R's for the last year and a half or so, ever since OM started rotating them in and out of their loss-leader column constantly, and I have yet to have any of them fail, even the ones that have been left out in the car in the summer heat. They're good stuff in my book, not the best of course, but for the price they can't be beat.

Its a gamble. I've had them work and not work.

I also got a spindle of 100 that would not work at all. I tried them in two different burners and it was no go. Now I just steer clear of them.

What do you mean when you say they "would not work at all." Please elaborate. Are you getting read/write errors, corrupt data, bad drive recognition, what? I ask because you could be running up against subchannel copy protection, writing data beyond its spec'd speed, or you're just using crappy recording software.

I've used Khypermedia many times without any problems, but I hate dealing with so many small rebates.

Khypermedia discs have always worked great for me....I've burned thousands of them, at high speeds, with very few problems.

I do wish OM would have 50 packs for $7.99 again (after IR's). I need to stock up

They failed the laser calibration. (Or at least that was the error message I was getting from the burners.) In other words the burners wouldn't even start burning them. I tried the top five discs and gave up.

sounds like you got a bad spindle. did you try exchanging it?
