They are discontinued and old timey specs (12x R, 4x RW, no DVD-RAM). Other than the novelty of SATA (relatatively rare in North American retail) I don't see the attraction or particulary savings on a dollar basis ($10 instead of $20 depending upon taxes and shipping?). Ergo, don't fret the "deal" has soured.

This goes on all the time. It is most likely a pricing mistake or at best an item they had some of stock in and moved it to get rid of what inventory they had. No biggie either way, though it would be cool if someone does get it.

As for complaining. I am sorry, but companies should be protected from pricing errors. They are in the business to make money. So there you have it.

Just put in an order so I'll update when I get any new info. I'm 99% sure it will get cancelled, but it doesn't cost anything to try.

I don't think anybody's gonna get this drive. I tried ordering twice. The 1st time I thought the order went through 'cause I got confirmation of item shipped and link to get tracking number, only to get a 2nd email telling me Office Depot is required to cancel any amazon.com order they can't ship out within 5 days. The 2nd time I ordered, I got an email from amazon telling me my CC info's wrong. WTF?! Fvck this.

Yes, I've ordered many times thru amazon and have never actually received an item that had a pricing error. But I've also never seen them take so damn long to fix an error like this. Not sure what is going on here.

Dosen't anyone watch for the od/amazon scam? There are NEVER the product described at first glance. There have been dozens of these deals, all of them are not the correct product. These are drive bezels, the bulk 24 pack sound cards were a single card, etc, etc...
