There is some "making of" feature on this one I think, but no deleted scenes or anything.

I've got my fingers crossed for an unrated version where the house of blue leaves scene isn't in both color and B&W. I heard (maybe it was a stupid rumor) that the MPAA wouldn't give it an R rating if it was in color due to all the blood, so they used B&W footage. Apparently Japan got the full-color version.

Also, the Japanese "Super" edition of this movie is CRAZY. It comes with a scale replica of The Bride's sword (letter opener), a T-shirt, and a couple other things, besides the movie. You can import it, but it's pretty expensive.

But see, that's one of the main things I loved about this movie. I could care less about watching it in color just to see more blood spurting. The B&W was far superior to simply leaving the movie in bland color mode.

I 2nd that "best Tarantino flick". I too thought it may be an "ok" film at the theaters. A couple of people said it was good but didn't give me that "YOU HAVE TOO SEE THIS FLICK MAN!" feeling. This does has goor and Kung Fu blood spray but it has a lot more... it's a work of art no doubt!

2 things though that I'm worried were cut:

1) When Uma and Vivicia where fighting at the beginning and her child walks in I heard 2 beeps both when Uma was stating her name... I wonder why this is?
2) I didn't see Uma training and jump onto the samurai sword. Was this a clip that never made the film or is it a Vol. 2 sneak peak or was I buried in my popcorn and missed it? I thought I didn't miss a thing but maybe I did.

Lastly... sorry for the winded response... The making of extra was over 40 minutes long and a lot of really good info and insight to the film. There are 2 videos by the 5, 6, 7, 8's which was a nice treat to see American '50s Rock Surf/Punk style music done Asian style in English.... you have to see it to understand. All well worth $20 with Resevoir Dogs at BB.

By the way................... THIS FILM KICKS A$$!!!, no way am I gonna wait a year to buy the 2 cd collector set, get this now!

Uma's name was beeped through the entire film, regardless of who uttered it.
I can't wait to see why in Vol. 2

I missed the 'jump on the sword' scene too. They showed it in the theater and
in the Making Of, but I swear I wasn't in the DVD version.
Maybe I just missed it when I went to the bathroom.

Check it out... how cool is this?

I wish they would have included an English track on it though.

I just looked at the price $200!!!! That is crazy.

From that link:

"The actual DVD will offer the following features including most importantly English subtitles as the film does feature Japanese dialogue...
Anamorphic Widescreen
English DD5.1 and DTS Surround
Japanese DD5.1 Surround
English and Japanese subtitles
Behind-the-scenes making-of on the battle sequences
Animated sequence making-of (approx 25mins)"

Even though the description says japanese dialog i wonder why the features list English AND Japanese Surround sound?

And why would you need Japanese subtitles over Japanese dialog?

I wonder if it does have an English audio track?

The Bride's name was beeped throughout the entire movie because Tarantino (in his warped mind) thought it would be cooler if we all referred to her as "The Bride" rather than using her character's name.

The training jump thing was NOT in the movie. I saw this movie in theaters when it first came out, and then I saw that thing in the commercials the next day, and I was like "uh... that wasn't in the movie." So my guess is that it got pushed to Volume 2 and we will see it this Friday.

And yeah, this was my favorite Tarantino movie. I purchased it at BB yesterday with Resevoir Dogs for $20. I can understand some people not liking it though. It certainly takes a certain kind of mind to enjoy something this creative and artistic.

The "sword jumping" scene is indeed in Volume 2. The Chapter is titled "The Cruel Tutalege of [Old Asian Man's name that I've forgotten]".

He's the guy that Bill sends all his girls to for their training. It's a flashback scene to before Bill crashed the wedding, which I'm guessing there's a lot of in this movie from the previews I've seen.

The Bride's name is given away in a news article I read about KB:Vol2, so be careful what you read about the movie if you don't want it spoiled.
