Football has started...well conditiong anyway..soon double sessions will start i dont think i can stand 6 hours of football a day...someone just put me down now
LOL i was at a family gathering and a part of my family is from Texas and they were talking high school football now i see why West Texas/all of texas is so infatuated with hs football on a side note my uncle and brother inlaw almost got into it over 2 high schools chances at the state title..dumb i know
Me too while your at it Lucky SOB! You are in Pennsylvania, I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT OKLAHOMA IS MORE HUMID/HOTTER. AGGH!!!! Our team is in the top division in the state so we take training, etc. very seriously... I have been weightlifting/running every single morning for the entire summer, and have two a days next week, but trust me there is a BIG difference between running your ass off at 6am then doing 2 a days in full pads in 100 degrees with a heat index of 110. Hell a football player died (from the NFL!) (rip btw) today in only 95 degrees. And yes it is more humid in this hell known as Oklahoma.
Oh make sure you don't eat before you run or go to two -a -days, at least for me, the hunger will go away , and is worth not throwing up and feeling like the worst hangover you have ever had in your entire life.
Don't worry about it EnragedPC - you gotta have something in ya that would warrant you to be in this training session that is coming up. Just suck it up and realize that you're capable of the pain! I remember back in the day when cross country required 7-8 miles a day for training, and this was during the heat of the summer w/ rolling hills everywhere... I never thought that I'd make it, but I did... and I know that if I'm capable of doing anything that is remotely difficult, then a football player like yourself would be able to do it too
"The pain is just weakness leaving the body"
Remember, no pain no gain... just think of how much more conditioned you would be after you go through these double sessions. Good luck =)
Yes I have prepared myself and I am in VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY good shape right now, but it all changes when you are in the middle of the day in the heat, oh and in full pads. I am used to the heat from mowing a lawn that takes 6 hours (huge ), but it still doesn't compare to 2 a days.
Hmm - Impact - you make a good point, I didn't have to wear all that heavy gear while I conditioned for X-Country... man, if only I did, imagine how much more buffed up I'd be!! (or imagine how dead I'd be, either one works)
I also play Ice Hockey, and although it is more pads and covering, football equipment "feels" much heavier than ice hockey equipment as you are running and not skating. Although hockey players DO sweat a lot, even though the rink area is very cold.
Yes, I do those UF. I lift weights everyday, do sprints, ropes, running, stairs, ab burnouts, all that fun stuff, but it's still going to be real hard in the heat. Oh well
BTW I saved that signature, it's pretty funny in a bad way .
