Just thought I'd post an update, my TE2 stick has been shipped. Gamestop definitely has them in stock. Get em while you can.

Let me chime in, I use the CronusMAX and my TE stick from my ps3, works great and I have no noticeable lag, after testing out controller vs my stick - I was an avid SF4 player and I can say it feels right. Its a great alternative if you have Xbox360/PS3 fightsticks hanging around.

There is a reason that all official fighting game cabs from Japan use Sanwa parts. They are the best when it comes to fighters because the buttons are light and fast and the stick is short throw and solid. It is the gold standard.

So, does anyone know of any sales for the ultra edition of KI? I was trying to find some deal on the digital code for the ultra edition, anyone know if that exists?

i don't think they have had any sales on it. tbh, unless you are a diehard ki fan (like myself, but i got the pin ultimate edition), i don't think the ultra edition is worth it. all you get extra is the ki1 arcade port (which is good and arcade perfect, but no online multiplayer, and the game has not aged very well and isn't fun against the ai) and the extra accessories, which are strictly cosmetic. if i wasn't a die hard ki fan i would have gotten the combo edition.

i also own a ki2 arcade cabinet with ki1 currently in it, so playing it on the xbox1 doesn't really interest me at all.

^This. And, in the event you just buy the $20 addition, I believe you can upgrade to the $40 addition if you really want to.

i regret getting the pin ultimate edition too because i thought ALL of the pins were going to be able to be earned with challenges, but only 1/2 of them can be. plus you gotta pay $3 to get them shipped. the pins themself are $15 a piece. i got the first months free one but i don't plan on bothering with any more unless i just am in the mood to do the challenge.

the challenge for feb's pin was beating someone in ranked with a supreme victory, then uploading the whole match to your skydrive thing. the problem is, you ahd to include the "supreme victory" announcement after the victory. when watching the replays, they don't have it saying that line. so basically, whlie playing the game, as you are about to win, you have to get the dvr to record it saying supreme victory, then add that to the end of the video from your dvr in replay mode or whatever. well that's not that easy to do very fast when you can't use kinect for voice commands.

just a stupid way to do a challenge all around.

and now double helix is screwing up killer instinct more and more with each patch they put out making the game buggy as hell. apparently the patch from yesterday or the day before is making people not even able to open the game. there are a bunch of posts about it over on the dh forums.

Just thought I'd post an update on my experience with KI and the XB1 controller.
The dpad on the XB1 pad isn't bad at all. My controller actually responds really well about 80% of the time. The only time I have issues with it is when doing heavy specials. I'd say this is more of a limitation of my hand than it is the controller. I can open, auto, and link combo's just fine, its ending them with a special heavy that is frustrating. My hands just don't work well with the heavies on the controller. I may end up changing the button order and swap medium's with the heavies so they're easier to hit. Either or, I can't wait for my TE2 to arrive.

Ended up returning the stick to a local gamestop. I couldn't get used to it, I was terrible with the stick. I felt like I had way more control with the dpad. I guess I've evolved into a gamepad player.

Wish you had posted before you returned it. It takes a bit to get used to. It is hard at first, if you didn't grow up using sticks in arcades. The transition takes time, but is completely worth it.

yeah it's all just personal preference at the end of the day. there are a couple reasons that i just can't use pads in general. well i should say, i can't use the xbox pads.

1. the dpad is awful - it gives you inputs in directions you don't intend. happens on the x1 just as often.
2. shoulder buttons - they just do not feel right, especially considering the trigger and bumpers have a flat out different feel to them.
3. slower inputs - things like doing dashes, or going back->forward, are just much faster on the joystick than the controller (for me).

i just feel gimped to all hell when playing with a pad. i can use the playstation controller though for fighters if need be because the dpad is light years better and the shoulder buttons are better (for fighters), but joystick all the way. it also depends on the game. a game like classic mk1 or 2 is fine on a dpad because there is no dashing and no moves require diagonals.
