Why are these batteries not made to the normal 1.5 V as the alkie's? All recharge's are 1.2 V. What's up with that?

the Alkline batteries' votage usually will drop to 1.2V after couple of minutes of use.

I have an iConcepts charger (CompUSA free after rebate deal) that looks exactly like the Vanson V-2833 shown here.

Will this charger work with higher rated bats like 1800 and 2000? If so, how do you calculate the charge time with the higher mAH batteries? I'm pretty sure that this charger does not have any sort of auto shutoff circuit.

Does any one know what's going on there? Is it saying that batteries sold at batteryspace.com are not manufactured by byd.com.cn? I had good experience with bydusa.com. Is there any one able to clarify this? TIA.

I just bought the 24-pack AA batterry from bydusa.com. And I think i will use half the amount of battery that i've got. Anyone know what i need to do with the other half if i want to keep it for a long time?
do i have to charge it first before i keep it, or i just put it in the storage and charge it when i need it?
