Mine arrived. the 12 AAA were in a thick plastic bag and the 24 AA were in a different plastic bag. Also bought the 10 position computer controlled charger. Strange thing is that they're still charging in the station (red = quick charge mode) since I put them in 10 hrs ago (6 AA and 4 AAA). I would have expected the AAA to be charged long ago... well, if I come home and see battery guts all over the house, I'll know what hit.

My testing result is also pretty good. The lasting time is much longer than my previous sanyo batteries

Target has the Rayovac PS1 charger for 9.99 and if you're lucky their's a manufacturers coupon for $3.00 off on the front. It's a slow charger charger for AA and AAA, but it allows you to charge 1 battery at a time unlike other chargers that you must charge in pairs. Also it has a computer controlled feature that allows you to leave the batteries in the charger after the red diodes go out. So my question is:

Couldn't you just buy a few of these 8 hour PS1 chargers, and leave some batteries in so you have some if you need them in a hurry rather than buy a 1hour quick charger? The life expectancy of a slow charged battery is like 1000 times which is double that of a quick charged battery. What I'm trying to figure out is how you can get around not having to get an expensive 1 hour recharger and always have batteries fully charged when you need them.

Straight from the previous messages web site:

Limitations and Cautions:

When you use two or more adapters together, do not mix new and used batteries, batteries of different charge levels or different types and brands.

Use only Panasonic Nickel-Metal Hydride AA batteries or Panasonic Nickel-Cadmium AA. (manufacturer suggested limitation)

Do not use adapters with actual D and C batteries.

Please insert the AA battery into the adapter correctly.

Be sure to insert the battery into the adapter only when using an electronic device. Remove battery after using, or when not in use. Store adapter separately from the battery. (So no go in a D or C size flashlight huh??)

Do not recharge the battery while in the adapter.

Do not insert batteries with scratched or torn surfaces into the adapter.

Do not use 4 or more adapters at once. Do not use adapter for extended hours. (What's the point of an adapter if you can't use it for extended hours, like the real C or D battery?)

The capacity of the battery inserted into the adapter will not change.

some info

Just for your information:

BYD acutally is the second largest OEM manufacturer of rechargable batteries worldwide, occupying 15% of the market share. Its products, whose price is 40% lower than Japanese peers, just kick the axx of Japanese companies. Panasonic and Toshiba got serious hurt after Motorola, Philips, and Ericsson switched to BYD for their mobile phone batteries. Sanyo, the only profit-making Japanese company at present time, might loss two of their biggest customers (Nokia there) soon. Let see what would happend in the next two years.

Bump for a hot battery deal!

I received my order earlier this week, and so far I am impressed. Ordered 24 AA's, 16 AAA' and 2 Sony Ni-Cad NP-68's for my older camcorder. Seems nice to be able to dust off my old camcorder for once.

One thing I noticed when I went to charge the Sony Ni-Cad's, the charge light on my Sony chager only stayed lit for a couple minutes to indicate that the battery was charged. I checked with a voltmeter and sure enough it appeared to be fully charged. Ran the camcorder for about an hour and it still indicated that it had 3/4 charge left, so that seems about right. Apparently they ship the batteries charged.

I also checked the AA's that I ordered. The charged ones measured about 1.4V and the ones right out the bag measured around 1V. Not sure if these were charged at the factory or if 1 volt is normal for rechargeables.

I'm still trying to decide if I should buy the Maha chager from Thompson Distributing, or if a cheaper charger will work fine. I currently have a Energizer 4-AAA charger from Sam's club, which works with a timer shutoff and a cheaper PDA charger I got from a deal on this forum from CompUSA which also charges 4-AAA or AA's. However, this chager doesn't shut off like the energizer, so I don't think that's good for the batteries to be overcharged. Are there any chargers comparable to the Maha, that I might find at a local B&M type store?

I don't know about e,f or x, I picked up some D cells from:-

http://members.tripod.com/mickeyrv/id4.htm

They were $5.50 each for 7000 Mah.
This was the best deal I could find. Shipment was prompt & batteries were in good shape.

They also sell the AA's individually for $1.15 each for 1750 Mah.

This site is good as you don't have to buy in bulk to get good prices.
The guy seems to sell a lot on eBay and has good ratings (www.tripod.com wouldn't be my first choice normally)

My 24 AA came couple of days ago. Been using them in my GPS, Digital Camera, and 2 way radios. Seemed to work great..

Good Deal.

I need to order some C's for my flashlights

OK, so I'm going to place an order, but don't need too many for myself. So if anyone wants to go in on them with me, I'll put together an order, then distribute. Let me know how many AA or AAA you want, and I'll get back to you with a cost once I figure out shipping. I'll take PayPal from available funds or bank transfer -- can also do PayPal credit card, but I might ask you to pay for the PayPal fee. Will need to get your payment before I order -- I'm mrcopperfield on ebay if you want to check my feedback for trustworthiness...

Email me if interested...

Davud

8 amp Hours! That is insane! I could build an automotive deep cycle battery with those and have huge amounts more reserve capacity! That means that one battery can support somewhere in the range of a 50 amp draw!

ccvv, posting codes is a no-no (as per stickied thread at top of this forum), but other deal sites that are often mentioned in very abstract ways around here do have the code.

not to mention, having pm's enabled would be to your advantage if you ever expected an undercover response.....

My goodness I just read the whole 9 page of replies.

Hot deal indeed. Now I just got to get use to using rechargeble batteries, I heard that they are too powerful for clocks, or those mini receivers and will burn those equipment out.

Also it will be nice to use this in torch lights, lots of fun in the dark with my childrens on camping trips. Also Halloween is coming up we all need some power dont we...hehehe.
