12 pack of AAA Ni-MH batteries for $9.49 + $5.15 UPS ground to Chicago. Not bad. I needed some for my cordless mouse.
I could pay the same for 4 AAA at best buy.

Those are also pretty good prices for RC car battery packs. I don't need any as I haven't raced in years.

All the NiMH's I've seen are 1.2 volts. But they'll work fine in your digital camera. They were made for devices that have a high drain on batteries. That's the whole point of NiMH's. If you use 1.5 volt alkalines in your camera, they'll drop below 1.2 volts pretty quickly, and that's why they seem to get used up so fast. It's not that they're completely dead. It's that they've dropped below 1.2 volts. With NiMH's, the give a constant 1.2 volt charge all the way until they're completely drained. So your camera can use the NiMH's for the entire charge of the battery, while it can only use the alkalines while they stay above 1.2 volts.

So the short answer to your question is, they'll work fine.

Thanks for the info....

Powerex are known as the best in the industry. They are also the most expensive in the industry. But doesn't MAHA have exclusive ownership of their batteries? Ie. it's not like they purchase from someone else, they make them and badge them?

In any case, if these are MAHAs, it is a killer deal. But there is no way to tell except to ring up the store and ask.

Also , I just read in the manual for my FujiFinepix digital camera that if you recharge nimh batteries several times when they are not fully discharged, they will suffer from the "memory problem" of not being able to be fully recharged. This is weird because I thought it was the Nicd's that suffered from this problem. Ie, having to be fully discharged then recharged. I thought Nimh, can be discharged in any amount and recharged to full capacity.......Any one else have the word on this?
NiMh batteries still suffer from the memory effect, although not nearly as much as NiCd batteries. They will over time exhibit memory problems if they aren't discharged and charged properly. They are much better than NiCds though. I general all rechargeable batteries (except automobile batteries) like to be discharged completely before being recharged.
On a side note, slow or trickle chargers will usually charge a battery to a more full state than a quick charger and will increase the lifespan of the battery. Less heat is produced and a more constant slow charge is always better for a battery. Quick chargers are not bad and are much more practical, but if maximum life is your goal get a slow charger that also discharges the batteries. It is also recommended that rechargeables be charged up periodically if they sit for long periods as they will loss their charge over time. Just my 2 cents.
Assuming these aren't crap batteries, this is an awesome deal. Thanks!

Thanks for the great find!! Hopefully these will hold a charge and last as long as other 1800mAh NiMHs. I went with the 24 pack which came to $34 shipped to St. Louis - will probably keep them all for myself - between my MP3 player, DigiCam and 5 remotes, I can use most of em and still have backups charged and ready to go.

Thanks again!

I just called their number listed on the website. They asked how I heard of them and I played dumb. I asked if they'd been getting a lot of orders and they said yes! They're not used to getting small orders but the Anandtech effect is happening.

anybody have a discount code to use ????

also they have a hot hot deal if you like to build up your own battery packs fer camcorders or hi-power spot lights = 10 pcs 7.2V 1800mAh Ni-Cd Battery Packs, Close-Out

Detailed Description

7.2V, 1800 mAh Ni-Cd battery pack made in Japan originally for old model two way radio. Never used!
6 pcs A size Ni-Cd cells(16.5 mm dia. x 50 mm length)inside at good working condition.
Just open the pack and take the cells out, you can make your own battery pack for every project at the lowest cost.
Yes, 10 packs(60 cells)for each shipment.

so that is 60 battery cells at 1800ma for only 6.50 = thats 10 cents each

AT 10 CENTS EACH, THATS SMOKIN HOT, ouch...

Does anyone know whether charging batteries made by one manufacturers in a charger made by another (e.g. charging radio shack batteries in a rayovac charger) will cause any deleterious effects? The guy at my local Radio Shack says it will, but I've generally found Radio Shack people to be untrustworthy.

I've been using my Rayovac charger for 3 different brands of rechargeables (energizer, powerex and an off name brand I can't remember) with no problems for almost 1 year.

Great find on the batteries.

Does anyone know of a good charger that will charge 8 or more batteries at once?

Thanks.

Nice site.. I was able to get 24 AA and get a new mini battery for my M4A1 (replica AEG BB rifle).

Will have to tell my MILSIM friends about this site for airsoft batteries.
