I tried the app on my phone and downloaded a couple of sample books. It's not bad for an e-book reader. I wanna give it some more time, but right now I still feel like an actual book is easier to read than a phone or kindle.

I hate to admit it, as a Kindle owner, but in many respects I think this is better than an actual Kindle.

I'd imagine its better than the majority of other ebook readers out there based solely on Amazon's content library, its huge!

I imagine I will use this quite a lot for reading on the go.

Edit: I have now tried it, and one annoyance I have is that you need to scroll sideways to advance in the book. I realize that this is to simulate page-turning, but after using my iPhone for a year now, my automatic reflex is to scroll down.

I suspect the Kindle's e-ink screen is much better for reading than the iPhone's. Every time I've tried to use the iPhone for reading, i get eyesore and it's very exhausting. I did install the app, but I somehow doubt I'll use it extensively like I might if I splurged on a kindle.

True, but honestly, I have never personally had trouble reading long things on my iPhone, and, while I would love to have a Kindle, it's not the sort of thing I can justify spending $400 on.

I was going to argue against this, but I downloaded the Kindle App today and I have to say...I totally agree.

WOW is this app nice! I sold my Kindle 1.0 a few weeks after purchase due to those crazy giant buttons and haven't picked up a 2.0 yet, but it found all of the books I had purchased, which was really cool! I actually really like the side-to-side flip function for pages, plus you can quickly scroll through the pages, adjust the font size, and add bookmarks. Man...this is what the Kindle should be! Touchscreen at least, but with color will be even better! I was waiting for my wife for an hour while she was shopping at the mall today and I sat there and read part of a book on it...surprisingly easy to read, and the black text with white background was also surprisingly nice to read on. I also flipped through a cookbook I had purchased and it was super nice thanks to the hyperlinks...the TOC was linked, as was the section pages, so I could get to a recipe within seconds.

Nice, I like it!

dood i really really like kindle on the iphone. i downloaded the sample for assassin's apprentice and i read it all while i was on the elliptical machine on the gym. it was easy to read, and having books on hand like this is really convenient.

I read a 384 page book over the course of a couple days on it, it's surprisingly usable. Much better with my right hand than my left for swiping; my left hand started hurting a bit, but the motion is very fluid with the right hand for page turns. Surprisingly readable!

In the last 10 years, i'll say i've probably read 500 ebooks and only 5 regular books (from Palm, to Ipaq, and now my iphone).
