Here is an example of what i mean...
Are you serious with this crafting system? Jebus, that'd just ensure I'd never use it. I love realism, but I don't need to have my character die from salmonella because I failed to cook fish for the proper length of time.

Also, is anyone else sick of the constant 'mini-animations' that a lot of games are using now? I don't necessarily want teleporting, but all the constant ~5s swaying animations just makes me some combination of bored and motion sick.

...do I have to go through that brewing process every single time I want to create one schnapps that creates a single save instance? lol...ffs.
Lol, that's for *saving*? Yeah, I'll just play more Skyrim, thanks.

This is exactly why I don't pay full price or buy games on launch. This is also exactly why people need to stop pre-ordering games so maybe we won't be left with a game that requires day one patches.
So don't get tattoos before the game is out?

Without mods on PC, this game would not be something I would be interested in.

I'm used to modding a crappy game to make it fantastic. This is no different.

There are lots of mods, so not sure what you mean?

Wow you all really dislike this game? This is by far one of the best games I have played in a long time.

I absolutely love the combat. It is challenging and rewarding. Sure at low skill levels early on it is hard but as you level up and fight more you start to 'get' it and it becomes intuitive. I go out of my way looking for a fight. Need to clean the blood of my sword and sharpen it? Then sit at a grinder and do the work. Or pay the blacksmith to do it for you instantly. Need potions? Create them your self and do the work or buy the potion from a shop.
Need to save? Rent a room to sleep if away from home. It costs $2 for the night and you can haggle that down if you have the skill for it. Don't want to spend any money to sleep and save? Go to your home. Sleep in your bed. Out and about? Find a camp site and sleep on the ground, for ..free. Game saves after any major plot point automatically too. Cut scenes are not overly long except for the one with the priest and our night on the town but then that was enjoyable to watch. The cut scenes help tell the story and are done very well. Don't want to fight at all? Become a bard and fighting will be extremely limited. You level by doing. Its a system used in past games and works well. The skills that you can unlock are a mouse quick away as long as your level in that skill is high enough.

The game is beautiful and runs beautifully for me and I'm playing it with ultra settings @ 2K.

The game is challenging and rewarding and provides a sense of accomplishment. I love TW3 and Skyrim but this game really makes me feel like I'm living in this world. Its refreshing.

Bugs are minimal with only one that was a pain but easily worked around for me. That bug is the dreaded: can't walk through doors bug and it happens rarely. When it does I know exactly what to do to get through the door. Problem solved but I'm sure the DEVs will fix it later.

Honestly sounds like this is not the right game for many of you, but there are plenty of us gamers that absolutely love it.

Query: If i just modded in 'infinite save potions' or whatever, is it effectively a quicksave system? Like is using saves limited to specific locales? I'm fine with no saving in combat or whatever, if that's normal for the game. I just hate arbitrary systems for faux difficulty purposes.

No saving in combat at all; even with the mod. With the mod you can save nearly any time you want. Just click the save button before storming that bandit camp or before making a decision you might regret.

Also i do not know why people think you can only have three saves. I have at least 10 or more and that is without the mod. I made separate saves at key moments in case I want to go back.

The mod has two options. one is you have to have a save potion in your inventory but can save unlimited times (it doesn't use the potion) another requires no potion at all and you can save anytime and as many times as you want except during combat and some story mode cut scene spots.

Not using the mod adds a certain amount of danger to whatever you choose to do in game. Using the mod means no mistake is unfixable.

you mean 10 different save slots/files or 10 total saves? sounds like you mean 10 different files, which is good.

I think part of that argument, early on, was confusion with the opening parts of the game that give you something like 3 of those potions for 3 total saves, but a full 1-2 hours in? Dunno. Glad you're enjoying it. It's a game I want to play but will wait for the bugs to be polished out. I can't support games that are released in such states. Seems it hasn't been a big deal for you, but from what I have seen, you are the only person to report such an experience, heh.

You have something like 10 slots for 10 different saves. Once it is maxed out the game will automatically overwrite the latest save.

I have never used one of those save potions so I cannot comment. At the start of the game it is not needed once. I just slept in the bed in my home at the village to save. Easy.

I'm 40 hours into this game now and I feel like I haven't scratched the surface yet. I've done a handful of side quests but mainly have focused on the main story line. I feel like I just last night completed the first ACT but I have no idea how long the game is. I read that if you focus on the main story only...50 hours. Beta tested clocked in more like 100 focusing on the main story. I hit 40 hours in game last night and I know I have a lot left to do in the main story.

Yeah, I'm loving how big the world is for this game. It is so lovely to look at!

My only issue is performance. I get a steady 35 fps at 2160p with my settings. I am wondering if I should switch to a 1080p monitor.... This is the first game that makes me want a faster GPU, and that is a good thing!

You are getting 35 fps but at 35 fps the game is still running smoothly no?

My game runs at 30 fps or 60 fps depending on where I am in game. At no time is it laggy or performing poorly. I cannot tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps in this game.

I agree about the world. It is quite large and on foot or even horse it takes a long time to get around. I dig it.

You are certainly in the minority here. 30fps in any 1st or 3rd person game is unplayable to me. The only exception is if you have FreeSync or GSync, then it is at least tolerable. But by no means is 30 as smooth as 60+

Yeah, this. Anything below 45 is catastrophic to me, and is to be immediately resolved.

I would normally agree. I play at 4K and I spent the money needed to get the best gaming experience I can get and hit the 60 fps mark.

Every once in awhile a game is designed to run at 30 fps for consoles I think and in PC it looks and runs smoothly at that fps. This is one of those games. No juttering, lag or hitching. This game runs smoothly at 30 fps. Most games don't and I can tell the difference between 30 and 60 with most games but this game runs so damn smooth that I don't know when Im at 30 or 60 unless I look at the fps counter.

That tells me this game was designed to run this way. I have a great GPU and CPU and loads of ram. Maybe that provides me a better experience than others with lesser components. YMMV.

You like the game that much to make excuses for it? It's why I didn't get it. It runs like CRAP on my 1080 ti no thank you.

I'm considering getting the game but it will be played/viewed by multiple age levels. Any insight into how "adult" this game is? More like Skyrim or more like Witcher 3?

Don't assume anything for me Eric. I am not making excuses for the game. I like the game and I do not suffer performance issues. Am I supposed to come on here and lie? Should I say I'm not happy with the performance when I actually am? Would it make you happy if I just sat here like a sheep and agreed with you?

You have your opinion and I'm cool with that. I don't agree with you at all and that is my right. Running at 30 fps or 60 fps is still enjoyable. Some games like FO4 when the fps drop it kinda ruins the game for me, but this game seems to run fine at 30 fps. Plays smooth for me. I'm happy. Maybe my eyes are getting old but I play it in windowed mode @ 2k and it looks good to me.

It has some adult scenes. Few but there. There is one scene where you go out for a night of drunken debauchery and it is a little R ish. I mean it never shows nudity but a but cheek and legs might be seen. You can go to the bath house and get "serviced" but serviced just means a black screen and a girls giggle and moan...very short and you don't see anything. It is an adult game though. Some swearing but using terminology from back then which doesn't sound as bad as our swears today.
If my 8 year old wanted to play this I would say no. A teenager should be able to handle it depending on their comfort level and 17 and up is the target audience.

It does so have nudity.
Did you not hit mid way?

ugh spoilers are broken..
But let me just say there is an achievement involved which you get with the nudity scene.

So yes it has nudity.
