I do not want a game set in realistic medieval times. Realistic medieval times sucked for nearly everyone.

I'm interested in this game as well. It's rare that we get a realistic medieval setting instead of fantasy medieval setting. But I'll wait for reviews and sale.

If the game is anything like the dev's say, then im expecting this to be GOTY 2018.
Its like Witcher meets Divinity, combined with a little bit of Dragons Age Origin, where ur not stuck on a liner roller coaster, and your choices actually matter in how the story is driven.

I agree, but when does a game ever live up to what the devs envision?

Watching the trailer just makes me want to reinstall Warband and then go curse TaleWorlds for keeping Bannerlord held up for so long.

Still, the game looks great but I'm through with spending full price on games anymore. From experience, very few games these days actually live up to the price tag so I'll give it a year or two for it to come down on price and see what everyone things. Maybe let the developers give it a few more coats of polish and shine with updates so when I give it a shot, it will be a seamless experience.

Yeah Mount and Blade 2 interests me more. Something about this game looks...off. Looks clunky. Will pick it up at some point though.

well im on the preorder bandwagon again, and i hope i dont get burned for it like i always do.

But the game unlocks at 12am PST, its preloaded so at midnight im ready to go if i decide to have a few rounds before i goto sleep.

But i'll let u guys know how the game is tomorrow after i have put a good few hours in it, and tell you if its a buy now or wait...

Absolutely gorgeous world, decent performance on a GTX 980.
Fun, fleshed out characters, OK UI, good leveling & skill system. Combat is a bitch. Lots of cutscenes, which always require loading, and the game loads slowly even on an SSD.
I checked the map the that game is absolutely HUGE, along with apparently a very deep campaign.

The dealbreaker is their save system. You have to consume a limited item. You dont even get that item until you've been playing for a while and slogged thru MANY cutscenes. And you can only keep 3 saves total.

I dont care for that at all. Shame because everything else makes it look like a solid AAA experience.

So they went back to the RE Typewriter bullshit? I guess it boils down to exactly how limited are we talking here? Extremely expensive item or incredibly rare to find; or something you just have to purchase to save your game?

Well, they are free, and you are given 3 of them by your girlfriend early in the game. I have no idea how many there are. They might actually be somewhat plentiful, its the fact they do it at all. You can use them anytime from your inventory, not a huge inconvenience. I just dont like it.

That's just a dealbreaker in any modern game. This isn't console land. Sounds like an artificial way to pad the length of the game. I'll wait for a deep cut in price unless they change it.

Watched some video of combat, looked a little rough.

Part of the problem is that the game starts you off as a peasant who's literally only handled a sword a couple of times. You barely have any idea what you're doing especially against bandits or trained soldiers who have experience. I've watched several streamers get really frustrated when they couldn't take on two or three enemies at once like a typical hack and slash action RPG. You have to level up your combat skills and do more training later in the game before your character is actually a good fighter.

I already have the game from kickstarter and am really looking forward to it, but I'm gonna hold off for now since I just started a modded Witcher 3 play through. Hopefully a few patches will drop while I'm finishing it.

I just can't even. I've done RE1 on a full-playthrough without saving, I've done most of the games I've played on hard, I've done the Gothic series, Elex, etc, I can handle difficult, but not even garbage *checkpoint* saving, but sub-garbage limited, location/item based saving? C'mon. My kingdom for a quicksave.
