I haven't seen anyone here talking much about this game. I am pretty excited. The combat looks great, and the story sounds pretty cool. I have a hard time with Skyrim because of the snails pace it takes, and this game looks to be more down my alley.

Ok. The demo was pretty decent but I don't think I'll be grabbing this as soon as it comes out. Nothing really grabs you as being unique to the genre. The demo was nice and long though.

I had a good time with it. I tried it out as a warrior. I will roll as a rogue next time. I had an issue about half way through the demo where all off the voice audio went out on me, so when I was taking quests I had to read what was said.

Agreed. I'll pick this up at the $15-20 range.

developers in their forums said demo is from a 3 month old build. I played on the ps3 and had graphic glitches, sound going away, speed runs on the dialogue, and the camera is wonky. They advised to lower the sensitivity on the camera and all of those problems are not in the final release build they are currently working with.

Still..combat was fun, but I found myself fighting with the camera during combat and constantly having to go 3 layers deep in a menu to change items is not fun. However, I did like the crafting aspect and combat animations for stealth kills are pretty neat. Not enough jazz though to get me to buy day 1. I waited on the PS3 Skyrim, and glad I did because of all the loading issues that are still there, and I'll wait on this one too.

I still had fun. I enjoyed the combat, so I am really thinking about picking this up. Maybe not right away since Mass Effect comes out a month later and I know I will sink a ton of time into that game.

had some graphicial issues on the PC which i think were ATI related as there was a comment about that, should be fixed. on the PS3 i had the ground dissappear in that town when i exited the inn and shop buildings, if i ran away a bit and then came back it would be fine, no major issues. camera is kind of annoying but it seems to function just like ratchet and clank, could be further back

Just 5 more days. I can't wait for this game. I have tried to go back and play Skyrim, but it is just too slow for me.

don't get me wrong. I love Skyrim and am horribly addicted to it. But the combat is very static and not very interesting. amalur looks like a whole different ball of wax.

This is exactly the way I feel. I am done with Skyrim, and now just need to wait for my copy of Amalur to show up next week.

Picked mine up at a midnight sale. Only made it about an hour in, but, I dig it. I've always preferred fast paced hack and slash type stuff (God of War III for example). Coupled with the depth of a full on RPG, and an awesome combat system, it should be a good play. I really like the pacing and the visual style.

I may rent it to see how things are in the final version before buying. Seems fun generally, but in the demo some of the controls feel sorta clunky and the camera could have used a bit of work.
