$6 shipping for me makes it a little less palitable, but considering Newegg is selling the Kingmax PC2700 version of this at $108, still good.

Now my only question is, is Sodimm DDR backward compatible like ordinary DDR memory? Can I just stick this PC3200 in my compaq laptop, with my current PC2100 memory and have it just run at 2100 speeds?

Wait...I can just drop this in my Inspiron 8600? I know it takes 200pin SODIMMs, but I was always under the impression that the chipsets in these things are limited to a specific clock range. If that's not the case, then I might soon be out another $100. Hmm, kinda hard to believe. PEACE.

Yeah, I'm not as confident when buying misc. memory for my laptop. I guess I need to do some more research and see exactly what type of RAM the PowerBook G4 needs.

Took a week, but I finaly received the memory. Glad I was impulsive and purchased it before it was oos Man it was easy to install and my laptop is running great. The best part is the extra memory unlocked an option in the bios that allowed me to use 128mb for my video card instead of just 64.

Im going to run memtest86 overnight just to make sure this memory has no issues.

Only one thing bothers me, and thats the fact that I can't mess with the CAS settings. Anyone know a way to do this on a Compaq Presario 2182us or any other laptop without it being an option in the bios?

ur best bet would be to add ur email to their alert system. it doesnt seem that it has come back instock for quite some time.

Well I just bought my gig of ram from crucial for $270 If this memory comes back in stock before 30days with crucial, then I will return my memory to them.

I bought my 256mb sodimm from circuitcity for $20 AR. I will wait til 512mb drops to $40 AR, then buy one.

but CC doesnt sell 3200 sodimms.

I just canceled my crucial order and ordered some a-data ram from new egg. $200 even for 1gig shipped!
