My roomate just got these. They pass memtest86 for 4 hours or so at stock settings on a dell. So they seem pretty staple.

You know, I think we really gotta stop freaking out and buying out all their stock every time the price drops another $5. This is obviously part of an overall memory market price drop so....wait it out a bit instead of regretting that you paid $83 instead of $79...and then regretting that you paid $79 instead of $73...and then regretting that you paid $73 instead of $69...etc.
I'm really tempted right now at $69.99 shipped after rebate but I'm also thinking that the price is going to get just a little bit better since these price drops are coming in every 2 days or so!

I bought at $93 and $73, but I got say I love this RAM. It's stable and works great in an old Gigabyte intel 848 board and works super in a cheap Gigabyte KT600 board I just purchased to replace an Soyo KT600 thaat crapped out. I love the prices and I love KingMax RAM. You'll rarely pick the bottom on price, so if you like the price and you need the RAM, buy it. It's much better than paying $160-180 for a gig back in February 2004.

Received mine today, hopefully you guys can help me set my latency settings on my MSI 865PE Neo2-P since I am pretty clueless with that stuff. I have the following options to fiddle with:

Configure DRAM Timing by SPD
CAS# Latency
RAS# Precharge
RAS # to CAS# Delay
Precharge Delay
Burst Length

What do I set them to to maximize this RAM?

Thanks,

I got mine today. Errors in memtest multiple times before it even got through 1 full 100% scan (about 5 minutes)

Prime95 failed before the first 1024K test completed.

3d mark 03 crashed.

I went back and put in really slow timings, still didn't work.

I have my trusty Mushkin 512mb pc2700 in now and all is well again.

Specs:
Red PCB on the kingmax

3200+ A64 939 w/ retail HS/F
Soltek SL-K8TPro-939
ATI radeon 9800pro
Seasonic 430watt PSU
NEC 3520
10 gig WD for now (my others are full including my old boot drive)

Good luck everybody else. I hope you have better luck than I did.

YOyoYOhowsDAjello (haha, what a cool name!)
I also received red a PCB initially, and it gave me a lot of errors even at 333Mhz. I RMAed it, and NEWEGG sent me a green PCB. Now the problem was gone. Try to ask NEWEGG to give you green PCB when you RMA it.

I got memtest errors on my red PCB set, running at stock SPD settings (DDR400). I backed my FSB down to 191 and upped my multiplier to compensate, and it ran all night with no memtest errors. (NF7-S v2 MoBo)

Seriously debating whether I should RMA these things, or whether I should just deal with a reduced FSB. One of the great things about my MoBo is that it can do over 210 FSB stable, so I was hoping to at least get my ram running at 200.

Anyone care to fill me in on the relative hassle factor of dealing with Newegg RMA's?

Thanks.

Small.
If you don't get what you want, why settle? Do you really want pc2700?

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll be sending 'em back to Newegg (and from what I've gathered, asking for green PCB's if possible).

I received the red PCB yesterday. Installed in a Dell 400SC and ran memtest86+ at stock speed SPD DDR400 for 14 hours with no errors. Just installed them in a AMD64 system running stock on a K8V SE Deluxe. Will see how that runs.

I wonder if the people having problems with the red PCB are because of incompatibilities between this version of RAM and their motherboard?

For me, I'm pretty positive it's not an incompatibility with the MoBo (NF7-S v2.0).

My memtest errrors have occurred consistently at the exact same spot (891.1 MB, if I can recall correctly), and no other errors except at that spot, so it looks like one bad bit (out of over 8 billion).

I have an old intel845g (333MHz) chipset, and as Beefcake84 stated, one of the modules (with red PCB) gave errors at the same location. The setting was at 333MHZ, 2.5-3-3-6 with 2.6V.
Now I have green PCBs and they do fine at 354MHz , 2-3-3-6 with 2.6V. Now all I need to do is to wait for Athlon64 Venice.
