Pretty hot, I think, even though it's not the fastest SSD out there. I might jump.

Yeah...I have the cash on hand to shell out the $135, but waiting 3 months for the $75 is too long for too much lol

$10 off $200 coupon brings it below $1 per GB...also FatWallet has 4% cash back (IIRC)

$114.xx after coupon, rebate and cash back. Damn tempting.

Damnit, I bit. Created a new account using my Gmail addy. so that I could use the coupon. Sequence: Add coupon, add drive and then go to Fatwallet and click through cash back link to "try" to get 4%. Check out using that window. Used Paypal to avoid using credit card over again. Hopefully, $114 to $115 or so after cash back, coupon, credit card rebate and mail in rebate...life in the big city!

That's pretty hot for being 128GB, rebate and all. Even the before rebate price isn't bad. It is the "desktop bundle" meaning it comes with SATA data cable, SATA power adapter, disc with Acronis True Image HD and most importantly a 3.5" drive bay adapter. Indeed the adapter looks as if it can hold two 2.5" drives in one 3.5" bay. Nice!

The controller is a Jmicron JMF618 (rebranded as Toshiba). Not the hottest controller on the block, but with reasonable performance. It is not to be confused with the old crappy Jmicron controllers that gave early SSDs a bad name. This has decent performance and supports Trim. Now, this drive doesn't have the raw benchmark performance, but reads are great (as usual with most SSDs these days) and writes are okay. It only drops the ball somewhat on random writes, but then again some other controllers do as well (hellooooo Indilinx).

$135 AR for 128GB makes this IMO pretty juicy for use as a sole drive in notebooks and desktops w/o games/media. I'd get one, if it weren't for the fact that I have way too many SSDs (have around five sitting in my garage unused) and that I'm going to be out of town for two weeks. Wife will be around to receive it, but I don't need her askance glances.

EDIT: Awww crap!
I also remembered that Shop Discover has 5% cashback for Buy.com.

Then again...
alid for first time Buy.com customers only.

So, I'll just get the 5%, making the drive around $125 AR. Wow, $1/GB!!!

Regarding two rebates, probably there is fine print saying that there is a limit of 2 rebates per household. This means you can buy two of these drives and get one rebate per drive.

I would add coupon, go to FW for 4% link, and use that window to add the drive to cart. It is my understanding you won't get FatCash from a site for items already in your cart.

Small detail that could be worth $8.

I do love your effort to shave every last penny though!

"Usually", there is a disclaimer on the cash back site for this situation. I've used Buy.com in this fashion in the past and received the fatcash. I'll just file a dispute if I don't get it, LOL!

(but yes, your method would be the preferred method...wasn't thinking straight today and do Newegg this way all the time....just a reflex move).

Takes a few days to show up as pending on your account (usually after shipment) and then 90 days to get your money. I don't think there will be an issue but you never know. Regardless, if you can add to the cart after clicking on the Fatwallet (or other cash back sites) link, that would be the preferred method.

mrrebates.com also has 3% off.

After using many cash back sites, I have to say that Mrrebates.com is by far the worst. I've done 3 transactions with them, followed to the letter, and ZERO back. I've even filed claims with them and they say that they take it back to the seller and nothing ever happens. As far as I'm concerned, a waste of time.

I bought mine when it was $150 AR from NE. Boots win7-64 in 30 seconds on a T7200 945PM laptop, not sure if NCQ or TRIM is on (anybody knows how to verify that?)

I can second this. Took me over half a year to get money from them. Every "step" disqualified me and I had to write in and have everything manually adjusted over and over. Ive never tried FW, so we'll see, but with Mrrebates I literally had to wait for the full duration of every date to pass by:if it says "Up to XX" days....it means they will make you wait that long. I had to contact and complain several times (Each time I patiently waited for the "Please Allow X Business days before a response" time to pass before I contacted them. After threatening to report them to the BBB, somehow things got expedited). Horrible experience.

Atleast I visit FW regularly just to see the deals lol (Hot Deals, FW, and SD)

FW is generally very, very good. I have over $800 in Fatcash over the years from them. They are pretty strict with coupons and if they find out, will generally not combine the cash back with coupons. That's why it's important to not have to request cash back.

Mrrebates has always been reliable for me. The only problem is it takes forever for the cashback to go from pending to available. Bank of america has additup which is their cashback program. Usually if they offer cashback I'd go through them since the cashback is automatic. The only problem with them is there seems to be no way of knowing if the cashback was approved or not.
