This is my first deals post so here we go. Staples has the Kingston 32mb smartmedia card for $85.49 item # IM1197060. Call them up and price match buy.com for $55.95 then use one of the 10000 $20 off $50 coupons that are around. End price with tax $38. Not too bad. I just did this deal and the pricematching took 2 minutes. Got the memory in 2 days. Hope that helps someone.

I just want to thank you for pointing out that you did the deal. It gets old and tiring when many(not limited to just junior members) throw stuff up on the forum here when they see something and want to share it but either didn't try it and/or didn't dig far into the deal.

Note: trying it means actually finishing the transaction on the site or at the store...not putting it into the basket and going as far as the "click here to submit order" button.

Now if others could just do this.

Staples price match policy can be different depending on what sales person you talk with. Here are the basics. Staples will match any on line store. You call and give them the name of the site where you found the better price, they check the price and make sure its in stock. If Staples has the item as a next day ship item they are supposed to add the sites next day shipping rate. This doesnt always happen. Just depends on who you talk to. If Staples has it as ships in 3-5 days then I dont believe they add shipping costs to the price match. They never have with my orders. After the price match if the order is above the min $$$ amount for a coupon they let you then add one. They are generally good to deal with and try to be helpful.

How does in-store Staples price matching work? Do you bring in a print out of the web page? Thanks

I just pricematched a second ago. I pricematched onvia though instead, because they tried tacking on the $5.45 shipping charge at buy.com, Onvia has it listed at $56.90 and they can't add shipping since onvia is free. Total was $39

Damn! I did not think of Onvia!!

UGH!

oh well $43.82 is not a terrible price!! and of course my CSR "waived" the shipping charge since it fell below the 50 dollar marrk... that was 'so' nice

I think I matched buy.com during there free shipping days. If you find something at Staples and want to find who has it cheaper go here http://www.pricegrabber.com/ As far as pricematching in-store I have no idea how that works.

just did it using onvia with staples. Thanks. The total for 2 32MB smartmedia cards, 1 sandisk usb reader, one 10pk CDRW is just $115. Damn! have to go back to buy.com to cancel my order.
They are great for the steal deal on JVC digicam.

Hi. Newbie here and I'm unclear on the concept.
I can't find the Kingston 32mb smartmedia on Staples site. So, when I call I just give cs the item number anyway?

You can just give them the item #. To find it on the site just type in "kingston smartmedia" in the search field. :-b

Damnit, I paid 160 for a 64 MB card and a sandisk reader for my JVC! I wonder if Onvia takes returns?

Can you please tell me how you did your order? The closest I could get by matching the 2 smartmedia cards and the reader and using a 30 off 150 order is 121. Can you tell me which you got and who/where you price matched etc. Details! I paid $160 to onvia for the 64 mb smartmedia card and reader. I am going to return it!

Pricematch the 32mb Kingston's for $56.90 each at onvia, and pricematch the USB reader for $38.19 at onvia. Total is $151.99 then use the $40 off $150 code. Total is $111.99 plus tax for (2) 32mb Smart Media cards and a USB reader. Good deal.

Do you guys think I should go through the trouble of waiting for the arrival of the Onvia order, get a RMA, return it, order staples, and wait x weeks for them(Onvia) to credit my account? Has anyone had any luck with this? How long are we talking about here for them to credit?

Does anyone one know a good deal like this for 64 meg Smartmedia cards? Unfortunately it looks like Staples doesn't sell them yet.

OK, here is what I did, you got to be patient.

I placed 3 orders, two of them are just for 32MB smartmedia card. AYK, each order is for $39.11.
For the third order, I bought the reader and CDRW, the price is $35 after coupon.

I did pricematch of all on onvia.com.

So, the total is < $115 for all of them. But, you got to be patient. The CSR was Christin.

thanks. unfortunately my CSR told me it'd ship November 7th. i dont know if that's true but whatever. as long as i eventually get it, which i guess'd be about 20% chance, based on my past history with damn staples.

If you have ordered and received this item from Staples, what exactly is it? IM1197060 is a "Kingston 32MB Smartmedia Solid State Floppy Disk Card". What does it have to do with floppy disk? Then it went on to say "adapter not included", and something about parallel port PC card reader.
