Cool, this stuff should work well with my new KT333 Dragon ultra board... KVR333X64C25/512 512MB 32x64 PC2700 DDR Fry's wanted 199 bucks for 512 stick of DDR 2700...

I just spent 252 bucks saving about 150 if I would have got it from FRY's....

it can be combined but depending on the ram, it might only run at 2100 speeds.

Every decent PC2100 will run as PC2700. Only low quality sticks like Spectec, Elixir, and similar will not. If you get Samsung, Crucial, Nanja, Infineon etc, they will all run at PC2700. You need to adjust motherboard RAM settings since SPD will run them as PC2100.

Hmmm, I have two sticks of crucial 256meg pc2100 and was about to purchase the XMS series of PC2700 sticks from corsair. I should try to OC my ram first with my new mobo before getting new ram huh? If so can anyone tell me the voltages and/or settings i would need to set to bring the crucial sticks to pc2700 speeds. All I need is a quick and dirty explanation as i will research it further myself if i need more in depth info. Thanks!

I have 2 PC2100 256mg of Kingston valuram with nanya chips that do not overclock well at all...no way they will run a 166fsb...to get them run at 145fsb my settings on KR7A is cas 2.5/3/3/6 with I think 2.65v..my crucial pc2100 did cas 2/2/2/6 at 150 with 2.65v without a hitch on this mobo

I did get the free paperweight.... It was shipped in a diffrent box. Also got my SIMM. And a NASTY sounding surprise. When I got it there was a sound as if piece of sand was inside the package. Sadly, there was tiny part that fell off the chip floating around in the package. Sigh.... Spend more $$ and waste more time sending it back to NewEgg and hoping they give you back a new one that isn't broke... Anyway, looks like it was packaged well, and FEDEX box was not abused. My guess would be that it was sent out defective. But it's a small part and even if you looked at it carfully you'd probably miss it. So, can't really blame anyone. Thank God it was not a 21" Glass tube monitor! Shouldn't cost very much to send it back.

Anyway the RAM Chips are. Infinion chips.. Dunno never heard of it before so I don't know if they are as good as samsung. I going to give kingston a call and see if they will send me out a new one first. Maybe they might pick up the shipping tab .. I doubt it but worth a call to find out.

Yeah but 125.00 sticks of RAM make lousy paper weights. Now it could be a good door stop if you have really plush carpets! Nothing against newegg. I've bought tons of crap and this is the only bad one. Just kind of mad when after having your credit card on file. You'd think... They would just send you out a BRAND NEW stick of RAM ... PROMPTLY!!!

Appears that Kingston RMA is better then New Egg. They already shipped out my new DIMM with a tracking #! What service. New Egg ... Go to post office. WAIT 3-4 days to see if they even got it... When and IF they did get it... WAIT another 2-3 days for RMA to actually touch and look at it to determin if it really is defective. Then wait another 2-3 days for them to ship the item back!!! In the mean time there are weekends where nothing is done but they still count as waiting........ And Waiting....... Of course there is a small downside..if I don't get the ram back to them in 10 days I'll be billed 150 bucks! OWCH!
