Buy.com's reply said they cancelled the order because the item was no longer available from the mfg (Kingston). Funny, you can buy it on Kingston's web site right now (in stock).

Filed complaint with BBB and continue to barage Buy.com with complaint emails. I think I will make it my personal mission to cost them as much money as possible in customer service time.

Who are you contacting? I sent them an email through their website form and it bounced.

I also used their website form. I have also called them on their little known toll free customer service phone number (877-780-2464).

I am planning on contacting the attorney general in California next. Can anyone say Class Action Lawsuit for bait and switch tactics? They advertised this item as in-stock at a certain price, they accpeted orders at that price, the orders move through their processing to the warehouse, then they cancelled orders.

I guess they hope we all buy the more expensive model of Kingston USB drive.

Same here, mine got canceled also . Grrr. So I just got the Kingston 256mb Hi-Speed USB for $32.99 with a $16 MIR.

Them saying it was unavailable from the manufacturer is a BIG LIE! The item is now back up on their site as in stock but at a higher price.

This is the third order that buy.com cancelled for me after a few days.
They have a new story now:

I also got an email from buy.com saying my order was cancelled because of an error and the item is NOT in stock. It IS in stock as it was relisted at their site and also with a different Item #. This is total BS. They advertise a price, take orders for it and then claim they can't complete a transaction?? This really gets to me.

This is what my e-mail said. Sounds like a normal price mistake, which all internet vendors have language that they don't have to honor price mistakes. You can whine all you want, but just read the terms of service for any big internet company.

The problem is that the original email response said the item was unavailable from their supplier so they cancelled the orders. Then I find out the same SKU is available this afternoon for $13 more.

This is a classic bait/switch scam. The advertised one price, claimed they could not get any more of them, cancelled their outstanding orders, then put them back in stock at a higher price.

If the email resonse said there was a price mistake up front then I agree with you. However, I never received any written correspondence indicating a price mistake.

Bad customer service and sales policy all around. This will be my final dealing with Buy.com

what steams me is that when I pointed out that their website showed it in stock, she told me she "got an error" every time she tried to add it to an order... wtf?

Buy.com did it again. This is the fourth time for me at this site where I purchased something, had them cancel the order and then post the same product on their website for a higher price.

Buy.com is attempting to achieve the same status as TigerDirect around here. No disrespect to the OP, but I have a hard time believing that a hot deal at Buy.com will be actually honored.
