I've gone through 200 of these easily back when Outpost had good deals on them. I'll rate them as ok but I have noticed something. The faster I set my burner to burn on them (teac 58s 8x) the longer it takes to recognize the disc. Sometimes it will take 20 or 30 seconds to recognize the cd, but then it takes off when it does. If I pop in a verbatim or even the 8x version of kingston it immediately recognizes it and goes. I've flashed to the lastest firmware without any change. Also - the faster I burn, the hard the cd-rom drive has to work to read them... installs take longer, video is choppier. (audio seems ok tho, but tends to skip a bit easier in my car) Again, if I slow the burn down it seems to help a lot. Lastly, if I used them for DC the unit takes longer to load stuff. Verbatims booted faster and loaded faster. Odd.
It's bizarre but I'll keep living with it until I run out.. I have one 50 pack left.
btw - These look exactly the same and give me the same dye results with cdrid as the imation 80 min's and the pny 80 mins. They all have the same quirk when burning, too.
