I bought one of these, and they have no chip manufacturer's logo on the actual memory chips - something I've seen from KVR before. Does anyone know who the real manufacturer is / how to tell?

PNY & K-Byte, the other two big retail brands, use second-quality chips. I'm wondering if KVR does the same. Crucial as far as I can tell doesn't have that problem, but it's getting hard to find hot deals on them lately

my 512 pc2700 Kingston value ram uses samsung chips (don't remember exactlywhich chips) it runs great at advertised speeds, but mine won't OC at all.

For that matter, is this deal good in-store or just online?

I have a printable 30/150 that would work well on this.

Office max used to take competitors coupon codes, I did not think they did anymore, I have had OD take one in the past but YMMV.

good news if you want 2 sticks, like i do...

Kingston.com has the same RAM for $80 shipped with a $25 rebate ($55 net) which is valid for up to 2 sticks, unlike Circuit City's 1 per name/household rebates. and, since there is no tax with Kingston.com, at least for me, buying 2 sticks directly actually is ~$4 cheaper via Kingston.com ($80-25+80-25=110) than Circuit City ($90+7tax-25-15+90+7tax-25-15=114). nice, eh? i like 1GB of RAM for $110...

Kingston.com is currently sold out as well, but their website states it should be back in stock tomorrow, 2/25, so if all goes well, i'll have my new RAM by Friday.

this ram is excellent stable ram. Have it in 2 systems. Overclocks well if you have a solid mobo. I get equivalent speeds of pc3200 with it on my abit bh7 mobo. Very satisfied personally. YMMV.
