Kingston ValueRAM compatiblity problem?

I ordered the PC133 256MB ram thru the Dell deals, but when I plugged them into my Abit BE6v2 board with the BX chipset it only picks up 128MB of it. Anyone else who ordered their these RAMs via Dell or have these Kingston ValueRAM, did you'll have similar issues? Does anyone know if these have conflicts w/ any old/new boards?

when i tried that on my be6-2 a month ago...i had problems too ( 256mb pc 133 kingston value )
first it couldnt detect the new ram...i pull it out and put it in again and it finally worked...but then i faced stability problem
some guy from the forums told me that the old boards cant take the new generation of memory chips or some sort...
later i switch it for a 128mb pc 100 apacer and everything is ok now...
so maybe you should just switch to a 128mb pc 100 instead and see how it goes...

you got single side?

single side 256MB dimm is 8 x 256Mbit chips,
double side 256MB dimm is 16 x 128Mbit chips.
BX chipset supports up to 128Mbit chip.

It appears to be to be a single sided DIMM, but I wasn't aware of that being an issue. I'm not sure if BX has MB/stick limit but the manual says it supports up to 256MB per slot. How about the new VIA Apollo 133 chipset, anyone? I'll try it tommorrow after getting off of work, but I'd be disappointed if I had to buy another stick or mobo b/c of this predicament.

at the BX chipset age,
256Mbit sdram chip isn't out yet,
and 16 of 128Mbit chips can make up a 256MB dimm,
so the mb manual can say it supports 256MB dimm.

any chipset newer than BX supports 256Mbit
- 815, VIA Apollo 133, KT133, etc.
