Has anyone ever used the Kingwin KW-01 mouse?

Looking to replace a Logitech with sticky scroll wheel. Seems to be a problem with all Logitechs.

One has to take his mouse, trackball, etc. apart maybe twice a year and clean it thoroughly. Everything on my trackball gets gunked up so bad the ball can hardly move. I've not been able to clean any pointing device satisfactorily without a full disassembly. If necessary, take notes so you'll be able to put it back together. Get some mild solvent (e.g. isopropyl alcohol) into the hub of the scroll wheel to free up the gunk and pick it out if necessary with a toothpick or straight pin. May want to put some rubber and plastic safe lube into the hub like dry silicone or teflon spray.

Gosh, haven't had a trackball mouse in years! The mouse is a Logitech MX620 and I can't see any way of it coming apart. I guess I could try and spray some sort of lube into it but what else would I break?

The Kingwin mouse looks similarly shaped to the Logitech. I was hoping it would be a good replacement.

Used to be that a mouse would have one or two screws near one end of the sole plate and just hook on at the other end. Often they would hide the screw under a label or some kind of plug. Adding lube to a gunked up roller wont do much good. Getting the gunk out will. My trackball is the Logitech Marble Mouse. IDK if they even make it any more, but you can still find them around the web.

If this is your mouse: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...r%20Mouse%20-%20Retail
I can see one screw there, so it just unhooks at the other end or there may be another screw under the label.

Thats what I started asking about. Looks similar to the Logitech MX620. The Logitech has no showing screws. Maybe they are under the four mouse pads. I would have to destroy them to get to the screws. Not worth it unless you have parts to replace what you broke. Would be nice if the screws were accessible and I could take it apart.

Have you looked around inside the battery compartment for a screw or a latch?

Yes. I don't see any screws nor tabs, latches, etc. If it comes apart, they don't make it easy!

Yup, sometimes they do hide them under the pads. If you peel the pads off carefully and wipe the area on the mouse with alcohol and let dry, they may stick back on reasonably well.

There are 4 screws, 1 under each pad. The reason the wheel stopped spinning on my MX620 was the rubber wheel grip. The band had stretched causing it to make contact inside. How I fixed it was to cut the band, trim off 1-2 millimetres, feed it back onto the wheel and reattach one end with the other with super glue. works well now
