I'm looking to set up something in my kitchen to provide some tunes while I'm cooking since I do 80% of that around my place. I'm heavily into the Apple ecosystem, and so have bluetooth enabled devices that could stream to some sort of device.

I'm not an audiophile, but don't want some tinny, cheap sounding system.

I'm looking at the following as possibilities:

http://www.soundfreaq.co/soundplatform2

https://jawbone.com/speakers/bigjambox/overview

http://www.bose.ca/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/bluetooth_speakers/soundlink_wireless_speaker/index.jsp

Budget is probably $200-300 at the most. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd be happy to hear them.

I'm not an Audiophile either (I'm definitely more discerning than most...but not on the true audiophile level). I have a Bose SoundLink II that was given to me as a gift. It's great for its size, weight, portability, and lithium-ion battery. But at the same time, it's definitely lacking in ability when it comes to producing low frequency/bass sounds. It's great for using outdoors where you don't have power outlets and don't want to run extension cords. If possible, i would suggest listening before you buy.

I have the regular jambox and like it a lot, and it's well regarded. The Big Jambox is apparently better in every regard except absolute portability.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be doing some shopping this weekend, and let you know what I find.
