The cards releasing in early September are called GTX 970 and GTX 980. Not 800 series. Nvidia renamed them to 900 because mobile will also be in 900 series (980M/970M)

Want, now!
I know it's too early to say, but does anyone have any thoughts on how the 970 will stack up against the later released 960? I'm still on a 560ti and have been waiting....patiently. I usually buy mid-level cards but I'm not sure how much more patient I can be.
For me, it'll probably come down to price point of the 970. If it's around $350 it might be a day 1 purchase but anything over that and I'll probably wait for the 960s specs.

Do you know if the desktop 900 series is going to be a mix of Kepler and Maxwell or exclusive to Maxwell? It'd be nice to see more than just GM204 and GM107, even if it's not GM200/210.
Their Q2 2015 ended last July? Really??
nVidia doesnt have to state anything, TSMC does not have a 20nm process that will work for large die GPU's. Its an SoC only process for the time being. GF has also stated that they do not have a 20nm HP process.
So, these three chips WILL NOT BE 20nm.
Indeed.I feel the need to point out that it nowhere close to an actual confirmation.
Interesting, in AMD's last con call, they stated that they would have 20nm APUs and GPUs in 2015 (didn't say when, so it could easily be 2H15).
We (AMD) will be shipping products in 20 nanometre next year and as we move forward obviously a FinFET is also important.
They never specified what products would be 20nm did they?

One of the video casts strongly suggested we would be getting another launch on September 2nd in addition to the AMD 285 cards. Its either the new Nvidia GPUs or the Intel Haswell-E.
Haswell-E is launching then. Nvidia might be trying to capitalize on that launch if they can sync up the timeline...

When do you think the large 20nm one going to be released? 1st half of 2015 or 2nd half? I'm looking forward to the Titan II if one is released.
Me too. I'm going octo-SLI with quad 4960X and a terabyte of RAM this time, how about you?
