Who has it? Nexus devices (N4/N5/N7/N7) and Moto X.
Does it help with battery life? Compared to what? My Nexus came with 4.4.

I can't really say. I got a dev edition Moto X and it already had 4.4 on it. My last two phones has substantially larger batteries (Note 3, LG G2) so, again, I can't really say.

For what phone? 4.4 ROM just came out for HTC One recently, but I will probably wait a while.

I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4 on my N7. Seems like I'm charging it more since I upgraded

I didn't notice the improved battery life. I stopped using my Nexus 7 because the 4.4 update totally broke syncing my work e-mail.

The 4.4.2 update fixed it, but I don't understand how they could ship with such a fundamental bug.

I find myself using my Nexus 7 less and less.

For me it is the opposite. I love 4.4 on my Nexus 7 and on my S4. It flies.

4.4 has better idle power use. I can go a week without charging it only using it a total of about 5-7 hours. Before 4.4 it would die in a day or two under the same condition. Actual use of the tablet is about the same. Within the margin of error or use I'd say.

I've got a 2013 nexus 7 but find I'm using it less unless I'm reading something.

4.4 seems to have much better idle battery life on my 2012 N7, and it seems a little snappier than when I was using 4.3, but that's probably just because I did a full wipe this time.

Yeah, I'm having problems with my Exchange account on all my Android 4.4 devices (Nexus 4, 5, and 7 2013). It works fine at first. However hours later "Email sync" hangs and stops updating. So I have to manually turn Email Sync off and back on to temporarily jump start it.

Glad to hear 4.4.2 fixes that. It finally arrived on my Nexus 5 today (haven't installed it yet though).

Regarding the OP's original question. I haven't noticed a difference in battery life on my Nexus 4 or 7 2013 after going from 4.3 to 4.4. Though I use both of those less frequently and battery is never an issue. Though my Nexus 5 has always gotten me through a full day with my personal usage level.

i agree. same here. 2013 N7. it does fly but it did lower battery life noticeably.

and GSAM battery stats won't work now to give me details unless you are rooted, which i will do. but something in kitkat broke GSAM battery stats.

the 4.2.2 update rolled out quick to me, got it today. will see how that helps.

I found 4.4 was slightly better on Battery life. But as always I switch off a lot of polling that apps do like Facebook checking every 15 mins or so.

I honestly haven't noticed any difference in battery life on my Nexus 7 (old 8GB version) with 4.4.2, but I have noticed a couple of problems. The built in keyboard no longer does contractions (don't, can't, won't, etc.) when swyping to type, and the GPS constantly loses signal when it never used to have any trouble at all. The built in battery stats also seem to be bugged. Mine is reporting about 10% usage by Skype, and I don't even have Skype installed on the tablet...

I don't even know why there's a poll function when Facebook uses GCM Push. I guess people really want their news feed updated before they even launch the app.

While sync is much improved on 4.4.2, the e-mail app is still broken. Sometimes when I delete messages, a couple of seconds later they will come back and already be checked, like I did an undo operation (even though I did not touch the screen at all).

I've always found the stock email client to be lacking. Haven't really cared to look at the new in KitKat, though.

Exchange can be achieved with other apps. I used Maildroid and was satisfied.
