Klipsch 4.2 (2 subwoofers!) $299 - originally $399!

wow, this is pretty good for anyone looking to get a pair of awesome speakers.... apparently since klipsch has been backordered so long, they have offered this deal...... the 4.2 system, for the price of the 4.1 (this is NOT the v.2-400 you can find at bestbuy, this is upgraded with the new preamp, etc.) dammit... if only i didn't already have the v.2-400 hehe..... jump in on this! the bass is unbelievable with one sub, i can only imagine what it's like with two!

Hrm... some questions:

The 2.1 is 200w system, 4.1 is a 400w system. Two 2.1's (this offer, the 4.2) is a 400w system as well right? 200+200? so there is less power going to each sub? or less going to each satellite? any audiophiles know how this reduced wattage makes the system sound?

the 400 has 2 woofers in a sub encloser, the double 2.1 setup has 2 less crowded sub enclosures.. better overall.

The original v2-400, which they don't make anymore--has two drivers in the sub box, and more powerful system.
The new 2.1 are re-designed with supposedly better midrange, and one driver in sub (less power to each component). And control pod with headphone jack, line-in, and volumn control.
The new 4.1 is basically the 2.1 with 2 more sattelites.

I would rather hook up a real speaker system from B&W to a THX Ultra AC-3 reciever for the best quality sound.
2 Subs would definitely get you evicted, killed or beat down. This 4.2 setup is for houses only. Wish I can only afford the B&W Prestige speakers, but they sell for about a mere $70k.

also be aware that the 4.1 system has stronger satelites than the 4.2.

each sat on the 4.2 system (and 2.1) is 35watts. each sat on the 4.1 is 60watts.
