Thanks for the heads up on this one...I'm still torn between the 2.1's and 4.1's. They have the 2.1's on Amazon for $152 shipped, but for $15 more the 4.1's may be the better choice...

ive got the 2.1s, but ive had em for a couple of years now.

them z560s were meant to replace em, but they just went boom (literally, the power supply went out on em - peices of crap!)

But i drove to Mwave.com and picked up the Z680's for around $250 out the door.

And I am a very Happy Camper.

The SubWoofer is so nice and loud my whole house shakes like crazy...

I think I need to own the whole damn City.

Anyhow... My search for speakers have come to an end....

I just bought 4.1s and i'm not thrilled with them. There's a hissing noise on 3 of the 4 satelites. And yes I bought them new, I'm using an SB extigy. Any suggestions.... cause i think other people had the same problems. Personally, i think i was happier with my klipsch 2.1s

Edit... sorry, didn't mean that as a thread crap, just be careful, cause I think some other people had the same problems with these speakers.

Did you buy used 4.1's? The early ones were known to have a hissing problem. The fix was to get a new control module.

I've read different forums and the only ones that had the hissing problems among the high end speakers were the earlier versions of the logitech z680.

Maybe you got a bad one.

So if you're fortunate enough to still have an AMEX card with BVG (i.e., Costco Business card), you could buy these from CC with free shipping (plus tax---yuk) then BVG PM to tweeter.com for a net of $189 -$20 rebate -$20 PM = $149 +tax. Not bad. Go thru ebates for another buck or two off.

(There's also a CHANCE you can save even more *IF* CC happens to drop the selling price after the rebate expires, which sometimes happens. In that case you can contact CC and ask them to refund you the difference per their Purchase Protection Plan. I've done this twice, both times with products that initially had rebates attached, no problems.)
