Got mine; music never sounded so good. Everything was there, and the speakers looked brand new. Remember people, give eCost the credit they deserve for this awesome deal. reseller ratings

Edit -

Mine is already up. Guess who?

got mine yesterday...
all's good/...
all the cables, speakers all sound really good....a little brighter than my monsoon mm2000's but not near as smooth
..stiil excellent bass, they're going to be my "Entertainment PC" surround sound set up/....

for all with hissing, i would definately update the sound card drivers and any volume control software you may have(ie keboard volume or external sund card volume control)...

ok got my 2nd set of speakers..all the satellites appeared to be new but i'm still getting consistent/audible hissing out of 1 sub output (front right); atleast it's better than all 4. I know it's the sub messing up because I tried about 7 different satellites, cables, wiring and still the same audible hiss. I've also tried fooling with the audio balance, wav volume, satellite volume, surround volume, etc.The sub must be crunked at that port. I don't see how updated audio drivers for my sb live card will effect the one port of the sub.

any advice?

Finally got mine... very happy indeed. Very minor blemishes (though not perfect) on the control satellite. And there's one thing that bothers is me that when I shake one of the non-control satellites (now it's my front left), it sounds like there's a loose part in there that has broken off, which is very disturbing, even though that satellite sounds fine like the rest 3. Can anyone please tell me if that's a big problem and if I should return that particular satellite for a "new" one? Thanks

No blemishes here, but I am also missing one set of speaker wires even though everything looks like new.:|

Looks like I'll have to stop by Radio Shack and see if I can pick up some. I'll post back on how they sound whenever I get them.

Edit: Got the wires and hooked everything up into an Audigy 2 ZS. Sounds great! I wonder how many floors up and down in the dorm can hear me now!

*sigh* The rear-left port on the subwoofer does not work. The rear-right has occasional hissing. I called ecost and they want me to call Klipsch, but Klipsch is not open anytime I am available to call them, and the paper I've received says to call ecost, not Klipsch. I called ecost back and they won't budge. I see now why people complain about their customer service.

I've already talked with 2 CSRs, I'll try again tomorrow.

Edit: Did you contact Klipsch for a case number?

I was complaining but they kept saying it's their policy to make me speak to the manufacturer at least once first and get a case number.

Edit: Here's their policy:

Defective Returns

Defective returns will be accepted for exchange or repair, at our discretion, within 30 days from the shipment date. If there is no exchange or repair we have the right to impose a 15% restocking fee. No refunds or credit will be granted after 30 days, the terms of the manufacturer?s warranty apply. Please contact the manufacturer directly. (Please see important exceptions listed below).

A product must be diagnosed "defective" by a member of the Technical Support Staff at the manufacturer. You can get a list of manufacturer phone numbers by clicking here. Once it has been diagnosed, please ask for a case number and contact our customer service department for a return authorization number.

But then again, their REFURBISHED return policy does not state that:
Special Return Policy for Reconditioned Products

Reconditioned Defective Returns will be accepted for exchange or repair, at our discretion, within 14 days from the shipment date. No refunds or credit will be granted after 14 days, the terms of the manufacturer?s warranty apply. Please contact the manufacturer directly. These products have been previously sold and returned, reconditioned by an Authorized Service Dealer and repackaged for selling purposes. eCOST.com cannot guarantee that these products come with all original accessories and software.

my roommate said my speaker sounded a little flat... wondering if anyone else has this problem. It's probably just him though, since I think it sounded fantastic

I called again and they can't exchange my set . They said they're backordered and I have to return it and eat the handling fee.

when you had hiss out of all four, the main output of the sound card would seem an issue....
my set of monsoon's [MM2000] had that issue...i also had a live! card....
they hissed and squelled, and it really was annoying with a $200 set of speakers...I upgraded the drivers for my elite duo and the issue finally went away....
out of one output, I wouldn't think drivers would be the issue...
unless one side of your front output on your card is having an issue...(or the connecting cable)...
also might try keep the cables to your sound card(and sub input) away from other electrical wires , that can make a pretty significant Buzz also...or even moving them around to see if they might be the issue
just some ideas for you...

good luck

Hm, you may be right, I just tested the connection. If I pull it out a little, the left speaker works, if I push it in all the way, the right one works, can't seem to get both working.

seems like to late to replace it now =/ if we do we have to pay the shipping fees and have to wait until the backorder is over. Anyway, I found out if I stop shaking that particular speaker after awhile and shake it again, it doesn't have that noise anymore ... at least that's what I tell myself hehe

well i unscrewed the face plate...

the actual speaker and plastic that is SUPPOSED to be held onto the face is broken off.

man.. i was so happy when it arrived today.. i got all the speaker wires.. picked and examined each part for physical damage.. it was all perfect until i picked up the last speaker and heard rattling inside..

After lots of testing I found the left surround had some static coming from it. But I found it's probably a loose connection as when I twisted the connector alittle it went away.

well i spoke to a klipsch tech support guy that was very frank and basically told me the 4.1's, 5.1's are all discontinued. There was a mass "warranty-extension" on the 5.1's because there was a huge problem w/ the sub that klipsch "had not forseen." Most of their 5.1's fell under this problem. It seems to me that if these speakers are so great, why don't they last? It all makes sense now that 3rd party vendors like e-cost are buying them up from shelves of retailers that don't want to sell these lemons, passing on the "average-conditioned" speakers to the consumer for a dirt cheap price. I guess the saying is ever so true for this scenario - "you get what you pay for."

i got mine yesterday, but didn't get a chance to open the box until earlier today. Mine were in "like new" condition. Came with all the wires, and have absolutely no problems with any hissing, or any rattlling. I guess I got lucky. They sound AWESOME. The sub is so powerful that when the air blows out of the holes, it blew pieces of paper that were next to it clear across the room! I get absolutely no hissing sounds until I get to about 66% mail volume (which is almost unbearably loud for my 600sq ft condo.

....overall, I am very happy with these. The difference between these, and my old logitech z-540's is night and day!
