it has to be interference in my room if NOT A SINGLE OTHER PERSON is complaining about hissing. but what I don't get is why is it hissing out of only one port (front right). More sleuthing required on my part.

mine are hooked up.. no hiss, they sound great. they even sent me EXTRA speaker connectors.

netjack, how long did those people used the subs for until they start having problems? And is that mainly for 5.1's or it's also for 4.1's... because if I remembered correctly 5.1's have different subs than the 4.1's 8/

the guy never said..he just admitted it was a problem. I'm assuming it happened in less than 1 year because klipsch comes w/ 1 year warranty. So if they extended the warranty, it all happened within a year. I actually went hardcore and bought a ferrite/core magnet/signal noise cancelor. Going to check it out when I get home in a couple of days to see if that makes a difference. I'm aslo going to try and plug the speakers into their own power outlet. Fingers crossed.

Anyone with damaged speakers have luck getting them replaced? im gonna call them tomorrow.

Anyone know of speaker wire we can buy that is premade from radio shack. Im too lazy to make my own. Just need 1 with that 1/8 jack already soldered on there.

Got mine after waiting over a week! I can hear a little bit of a hiss from all 4 speakers when I put it right up against my ear. Also have static if I twist the connector in the back. There are some scratches on the control satellite. I had that rattle inside of the control satellite too. Opened it up and noticed some of the tabs on the speaker face were broken off. They still sound GREAT though. Trying to decide if it's worth the trouble to try and get a replacement. Only two days left to make my decision.

yeah.. well i got off the phone from ecost.. they said i could rma it once they get more in stock (feb 27)

i would have to ship the whole speaker set back myself and cover the shipping ;/

the guy did say since it was just one speaker to contact klipsch and see if i could get it replaced.. i doubt they would do anything.

Do you have to pay to ship the broken set back and then pay shipping again for them to send you another set?

Just received mine today and they were DOA. The power light doesn't even come let alone any sound come from the speakers. This is probably the last time I'll buy refurb.

Any ideas on something maybe I forgt to do? Or did someone else experience this?

i cudn't stand the hiss...unfortunately i'm not sure what i was thinking and i went out and bought the Klipsch 5.1 Ultra's big jump from these..but they're sooo much nicer and no damn hiss!!!

ok guys for all those having trouble returning their speakers and gettin stuck w/ billing i got special news for you..the one good thing I was blessed with by purchasing through ecost was Michelle Dixon (x4521)..the sweetest CSR you'll chat with..She took back my last set and paid for the return shipping and she's taking back this set and paying for the return shipping. So for all those having trouble in paying for their returns, call her at her extension and explain the situation to her and i'm sure she'll take care of you. Just dont tell her netjack sent you

for those with the "hissing"...check for interference. Mine hiss when I place my cell phone really close to the control pod. At other times...they are flawless. I love mine.

i thought long and hard about these, even went to bestbuy to comapre sound. i found the logitech 5300 thx, while maybe not quite as loud, sounded just as good if not better. for $20 more ($144 shipped from newegg) and being 5.1, i got the logitech's and am quite happy

Well this sucks...
My set arrived missing the speaker wires. I just got them from Klipsh and tested the system last night. I hooked them up using my Ipod as input device and only the front two speakers work. Nothing out of the rears. Plus, the input jack at the first satellite is messed up. I have to pull the "sound in" wire out of the jack half way to get it to work. I should get sound out of all four speakers using the ipod, shouldn't I? What really pisses me off, is that I've now has these over two weeks, and I doubt eCost is gonna take them back unless I pay for shipping, etc.
