god damn. Some times people just pull out amazing performances like that.

that's freethrows lol.

18 for 31 shooting (58%, which is still pretty good for a shooting guard these days, lol)

Shooting above 50% is pretty good.
Kobe's probably getting double or even triple teamed.

hehe i know, i was just making it sound somewhat sarcastic .

but ya, he was getting double teamed/triple teamed, but he was beating the dudes to the position every time, and before the mavs could set up the double teams, kobe already had position, ball, and already flew past them, or already shot up a square shot.

and on those times where they had a successful doubleteam, he'd just shoot it, and it'll fall in, or he'll outmanuever them to the basket. it was a crazy show he put on. highlight reels will go insane tonight, watch for them tonight lol.

he knows the floor, and just knows what the opposing team will do...

crazy player.

I hate the Lakers will all my heart (Kings fan), but you can't deny Kobe's talent (Lebron is still better...).

if you saw the game, or any game where a player goes insane, or has the hot hand, it's stupid, illogical NOT to give the ball to him.

When Lakers had Shaq, and Shaq had a horrible mismatch against the opposing team's center/defense, then it's only logical to keep dumping into Shaq. When Lebron earlier scored 52 points, he lit it up, completely picking apart the opposing team's defense. When you have a player that is doing that on that night, you always dump the ball to him.

when he's in trouble from double/triple teams, he'll always pass it out to other players who's open.

don't be so ignorant and just stupidly say "ball hog" to anyone who puts up a crazy performance. Kobe was crazy in shutting out the Mav's defense. He got to the position quicker than his man, and stole 3 balls.

Kobe was there on both ends, and the Lakers won big time.

and as far as I know, winning is all that matters.

The Mavs are 18-7 and have the 6th best defense in the NBA allowing 94 points a game. Let the adults do the talking please.

Lamar Odom more than doubled his score from last game.. all the way up to 7 points..

Ever get the feeling that Kobe is getting tired of his teammates being cowards?

If you saw what happened during the Lakers Rockets game this previous sunday, Kobe had numerous...a ton of chances where he could have capitalized on a situation where he could score. He gave up those situations to pass it to teammates, and they did not capitalize. Kobe just wanted to win after a frustrating loss to the Rockets.

This game, (as noted in the post game interviews), Kobe was basically given the green light to go All out, and boy did he do just that. Phil even gave the option for Kobe to go back in w/ 9 min. remaining in the quarter, but Kobe replied back saying that the game's already done, there's no need, his job is done.

and dahunan, ya, Kobe's teammates should really really step up. They have a pretty good set of talented young players smush parker and profit.
I always considered Odom to have good talent, and will be an allstar someday. Well, that was when he was with the Clippers. Now I donno. He's not assertive enough.

If Odom is more aggressive on offense along w/ Parker, and if Mihm is more consistent, then the Lakers can actually be considered a contender. Kobe probably knows his teammate's potential, and he's dishing it out to them.

I think a lot also has to do with the players not yet knowing their place in the triangle offense. I think by the end of the year, if Kobe's teammates know the triangle, and know their place in offense (i think Defense of the lakers is pretty damn good at this point), then they'll be a good contender, but not yet the elite of the NBA.

ya, I don't like shaq as much anymore. He talks too damn much. Even Tex Winter said Shaq was one of the worse coachable players he ever coached. Of course Phil said otherwise, but, Phils back no?

I think a lot went on opposite of what really happened compared to what the stupid media portrayed.

EDIT: and ya, if Odom and Parker steps up, Mihm gets more consistent on offense (his defense has been ok so far actually), and Kwame gets more playing time (he's getting crazy w/ the offensive boards) by actually not fumbling the ball during offense... then Lakers have the potential to become a scary team.

Great players occasionally have nights like this. When they do, it's advisable to give them the ball.

Unfortunately, Kobe can't do this every night, so his teammates will need to score eventually.

He was barely a 50% free throw shooter, but that game he went an astonishing 28-32. It was fate.

From the opening tap, the Warriors assumed command over the last place and outmanned Knicks. Philadelphia piled up a 42-26 advantage by the end of the first period. Chamberlai, who was in his third NBA season, scored 23 of his teams 42 points. New York's regular center, 6-foot-10 Phil Jordon, was sidelined due to injury, and his replacement, Darrall Imhoff, had a difficult time guarding Chamberlain and eventually fouled out. He was one of five New York players to foul out

He played for the full 48 minutes. 36-63 Shooting. 28-32 Free Throws. 25 Rebounds. 2 Assists.

Final score:

Philadelphia Warriors 169
New York Knicks 147

oh, and Guy Rodgers on Wilt's team had 20 assists. I wonder where most of that came from

oh and another thing, Kobe scored 30 points in the 3rd quarter. A 30point quarter from one player was never seen in the NBA since 1978...

even rarer to score crazy points these days due to the physicality of today's NBA, and defensively minded teams.

Eventually in the 4th when Wilt was reaching 100 the other team would keep on fouling the PG and then Wilt eventually took the ball down himself. Wilt was all about the stats. I really respect Kobe for keeping himself out of the game with the game already over.
